Full Version: My Ns Doesn't Work!
Okay, when I try to run ns it works a lil while for the d/l than it boots me out of NS and says FATAL ERROR! Could not open ns.wad. What does this MEAN!? can someone help me pleasee. Thankies!
it means you didn't install NS correctly.
Install the files in the following order:
NS3 Beta
NS3 Beta4
NS3 Beta4a
That should fix your problem.

The naming system of the latest patches is really rather confusing. Even to those who arent new to the mod. Natural-Selection 3.0 Beta 4a Its a 3.0 beta. The beta itself however has reached patch four, which In turn is now into part A. And now I've gone all cross-eyed...

Invader Scoot, I did exactly what you did and now its says FATAL ERROR! Warning couldn't open ns2.wad. When I install the last to patches, what file do i put them into??thanks

Goto Step 3. If you folow these steps properly you will not get client.dll or map.bsp errors. If you are positive you have folowed them corectly then redownload the installer form a different location. *There aslo seems to be a bug with, atleast some of, the 4a installers. Try pointing it at steamApps\your@email\ instead of steamApps\your@email\half-life Note: This is a file stored on my desktop because I have to use it so many times. |
That's from "Thansal's Guide on how to friken install NSv3.0B4a". Here are slightly more advanced directions:

Someone should just compile a large .bat or .exe file to do all that **** containing all the stuff needed.... theres a project for somebody
