Well When I play NS (may happen with other mods) I regulary (read: once every few seconds) lost control of mouse + keyboard and my pc carries on doing the last action it was doing e.g. firing and strafing. mad-fix.gif then the nasty fade.gif cuts my head off.

Please tell me what I can do about it nerd-fix.gif

Could be that your computer hangs for a second and the last command gets stuck.

If you use a lot of commands to one key it can build up too much and cause game to freeze for a sec and the last command get repeated?

just a few suggestions :]

Yea, I have the same problem that you do. Reading other posts like (Mouse Smoothing) it seems that a lot of people are having this problem. I think they said it had something to do with the last two updates. That may be true because it used to work fine for me for a long time and then one day I would start to get latency w/o lag. I hope the steam/ns team fixes it soon cause im itchin to go bite me some marine.gif

edit* hey check out this forum. It seems that this isn't only an ns problem. http://www.steampowered.com/forums/showthr...&threadid=65356

I can think of 3 possible causes:
1- Very slow CPU
2- Spyware/viruses/background programs
3- Complex binds and aliases being executed.
Post your system specs & run a scan with Ad-Aware/Spybot for Spyware and use some antivirus or online scan for viruses. If you use scripts, take them off.

my specs are:

Amd athlon 1000
256 mb ram
geforce 3

Ok its not great, but I get 30-100 fps and I dont usually lagg, and its not ''lagg'' as such, its not jumpy, its smooth, just stupid biggrin-fix.gif Just continues doing last command

I've had a similar problem once. Let's just say it can be alot of things. For me it was a really old PS/2 mouse with a glitchy cord, when you bent the cord it would sometimes do allmost exactly what you described. It allmost only happened in games(due to moving the mouse quickly and far) which I found puzzling and spent a lot of time checking that my RAM, processor and graphics card where OK only to find that it was my mouse of all things.

You can try replacing your mouse and seeing if it still happens if you happen to have another one or try inducing the problem by jiggling the cord if you don't. Try doing the same for your keyboard. Check that keyboard and mouse are completely plugged in(not halfway slid out). Try checking any other USB devices you might have plugged in.

its nothing to do with keyboard or mouse surely or one would lockup without the other? Howver for me everything locks up :s
