Okay, ive been playing NS for awhile and Now the onos has devour, it eats a marine and gets res. I Hate this ability, and i would like to have it replaced.
If it doesnt get replaced can you make the onos spit out the marine?
A onos devours a a marine and clicks his mouse button again and SPITS out the Marine.
This should be very easy to code. Once you ate a marine, you have the option of spitting the marine out. Most of us just want the kills but i like to share my kills, So if im an onos and i gobble a marine, ill spit him out and stomp him while the gorge gets RES.
questions? comments?

The throwing up of devoured marines as a weapon like bilebomb has actualy been suggested before. I think devour is not the problem, its the onos itself since the quadropel slug is slowed down even more then it is normaly, when having a load in the stomache.

id like it if u can 'ferry' marines and keep them in cold storage... teamplay res wise ya know? itll go something like dis...
Gorge: YO ONOS! get me a light armour marine and plob him right infront of my oc's pls, i need alot of res for the hive and every little helps!!!
Onos: NO PROBS!!! *onos runs into marine start and catches a marine and puts him in cold storage inside his belly, then he runs bak 2 the gorgey at the hive and plobs the marine down infront of the oc's, marine dies and gives gorge res, then the hive goes up and its gg*
and u can keep marines inside ur stomach for a while, maybe 2 give the lesser lifeforms less resistence when they rush the base, and 2 get the most l33tist player in the marine team out of battle for a while

u get what i mean?
edit: spelling

Think about it. Wouldn't it allow you to kill marines amazingly fast? I really dislike this idea.

amazingly fast? i doubt it... a onos has 2 run around with this important player all the way bak 2 a oc farm somewhere... jp hmg anyone?

get my drift?
(+ i think the marine should be able 2 attack onos form inside, no not guns, but the knife or maybe even try punchin his way out of a rhino

So, any time during digestion, onos can click again to spit up a devoured marine...
I actually like it. Dropping him to let skulks handle once away from teammates, freeing up your belly for another rine...
It encourages teamwork and creative use of abilities, plus it would not really increaase complexity of the game.
You get the FF seal of approval

I don't see any problem with this, and since, thanks to my pessimism, I tend to look for faults first when dealing with ideas here in I&S, that means it must be good.

I don't like it, it's too easy to abuse. First of all it seems off to me that the Onos should be able to simply hand off his R4K to other aliens, namely gorges... On top of that, though, Onoses would be able to devour HAs and spit them into bottomless pits(think ns_nothing marine spawn) for an instant kill. Even just a big fall would do the job; devour drains HP so it wouldn't take much. It would be funny for sure, but potentially damaging to both gameplay and atmosphere.

yeah I'll have to agree, I think we need to stop thinking of the onos as a bus or cow and more as a gaint rino that kills everything in its path!

If you dont like it, you can just devour the marine and dont spit him out!
I'll go onos, and spit a marine out in front of a bunch of newby skulks, stomp and repeat.

um... if your problem with it is that you can devour a marine and spit him off a ledge, i think u need to be reminded, the marines gonna die anyway, so, making him die a death that doesn't involve you getting the kill is kinda pointless. just the thought.

and whats to stop someone from eating them until totally digested... spitting him out... eating him again... waiting till almost done... etc etc.. keeping a somewhat good/important player out of the game for a long period.. granted, you could make it so it remembers what your digestive progress was, but that really doesnt make a whole lot of sense...

Indeed, there's no such thing as "digestion progress". That progress meter shows how much longer it will take to kill the Marine you're devouring, compared to how long it would take to devour a Marine of that type from scratch. Marines being devoured take gradual damage.

no, the bar growing to 100% shows your stamina in some way.

I know, but it isn't supposed to.
At any rate, "digestion progress" is determined by the Marine's health, and possibly armour.
