Okay i installed sp2 and ever since I can not get any of my hl games to work. I double click on the game and i see the loading graphics and then it just disappears and i am back at my desktop...
I have tried uninstalling everything including sp2 and reinstalling but it has not helped.
Please Please if you know or have heard of this problem any help you can give would be great!

The firewall is likley blocking inbound UDP connection to 270xx ports.

MAKE SURE its off. A lot of times, I turned mine off, and it'd go back on. I had to get it off 2 times before it'd actually register as "off".

Why do you think I turned it off?
I liked the fact it would ask what could open it up, but at the same time, it'd kill my connection to IRC if I wasn't active every 30 seconds.
The firewall works well on my system, actually better then my old one which killed my resources.
Theres a reason why your supposed to wait a few weeks/months after an SP cuz it always frags crap
well i got things to work i just got rid of the update all together. I am going to wait until they fix the bugs. reformatting sucks

My sp2 only worked well since i integrated it into my winxp installation cd and installed winxp again. Just upgrading your installation may cause problems.
Wait...so SP2 actually gives you a firewall automatically? EWWWW!
As does Windows xp period. SP or no.
I just heard they put more effort into making it more legit and on
par with stuff like kerio and zonealarm.
