Allright, this is starting to seriusly mess with my cool.
I did it all. I did it ALL, step by agonizing, retardedly complex step. I got steam. I got HL. I ran the HL training mission. I got all three NS files. I installed them all. I opend steam agian.
Damn if it dosn't even have NS as an option. STILL. THis is the SECOND time I've gone through that entire hoopla. Why in the blue hell dosn't steam recognize I have Natural Selection? It was so much easier before I had to go through this POS program.
Any help at all?

Check your Steam\SteamApps\***@.**\half-life folder. Does it have a folder in it named nsp?

Check your half-life folder in your steam install directory; whether there is a folder called nsp in it or not... If not search your drive for nsp directory... and move it to half-life folder under your steam directory... After that if you can start NS but it says client.dll error when connecting to server; install patch 4 and patch 4a again selecting the new location of the nsp directory as install path...

Holy God.
It works. Thanks, to the both of you. That was the issue. I didn't even need to reinstall that last patch.
Why in the world dosn't it go there by itself?
