I've been playing NS for a few weeks now, I finally fixed the bug that made me have to use audio hardware support to hear sound when normally other HL mods don't need it. The problem with hardware support is that I can't hear voicecomm, anyway I turned off digital output on my advanced options and it cleared up.
But here is the other problem I've been having, I've typed in the console, during games and everything else I can think of. I also tried the option menu and none of the options stay "on". The two main commands I want to do is hud_centeridentityid 1 and cl_fashswitch 1 and neither is working even though they appear to be "1" in the console. I'm also having trouble with cl_maxnumrubble in Day of Defeat, i want 0 or 1, and it always resets to 240.
Any help would be appreciated as most people in game apparently want to kill each other instead of just taking a moment to help me out. Though I have met a really nice guy who helped me out alot starting out in the game.

Hey, put the commands in your userconfig.cfg file in your NSP directory.
I hope I have been of help

. I also suggest reading the Marine and Alien strategy forums, there are also some good new player guides in this forum, just search.

well, you know it is hud_fastswitch 1 (correct?) and you know this will only effect the numkeys (aka slot binds) and then only if you have only one thing in tat slot (so if you have a welder/nades/mines it will not work on slot 4)
I don't know anytihng about the other 2 commands, I don't know what they do, and I don't know if they are locked or not.

I got the mousewheel bind set up, but the cl_centeridentityid 1 isn't working either, I tried checking the option in the advanced section of options, but it never takes hold.
I also play warhammer 40k, very cool avatar, is it from Dawn of War?

as spin said
put them in your userconfig.cfg (simply create a documnet in notepad and save it as that in your nsp folder)
