Full Version: Server Crash (bug?)

Prototype
Server: Win32
NS Ver: 3.0 Beta 4

I had a player join my server the other day and was able to crash it. This required that he connect to the server first. I don't know if this was actually a crash, maybe more of a hidden way to restart the server since it would immediately come back up with the normal startup map (co_core).

Once I banned his SteamID and IP address, he couldn't connect and I assumed that was his only way to be able to crash/restart the server.

Does anyone know of any HLServer and/or NS server crashes? If so, is there a way to prevent them (i.e. a metamod plugin that stops the exploit)?

Thanks

There is a exploitable bug that crashes dedicated server... And no metamod plugins available for this... Just keep banning the exploiters for now... I guess it will be fixed in b5...

Doesn't this plugin fix this issue?:

seems like it to me, but then I may be thinking of a different exploit..

Fixes enough other bugs in NS it's a very nice mod. smile-fix.gif

Oh yea... Ive missed that... As far as I know there is only one way to exploit this bug... So try it Prototype; this is your cure I bet...
