i don't get why they made it so that the armory heals u randomly when u hold the e key when u are up to it!
would it be too advantageous if the marine gets healed at regular intervals? i mean if it is, wouldn't prolonging each interval the marine gets healed make it fair?
i just hate it when i'm getting gassed by a lerk...sometimes i go up to the armory and it's fine and heals me, sometimes it refuses to and i just die in 20 seconds spamming the e key and holding it...

i've been trying to work out how it gives meds out to, seems to be random
.Suppose it's best just to call for a med from the comm, or in combat get resupply.

This is a mod plugin ain't it, also this means that less res will have to be spent on medpacks, and some aliens will just not get that kill if he didnt have a med.

It was a plugin in 2.0, but its been officially implemented as a feature.
And the armory isn't supposed to be one big medpack. You're commander is supposed to supply you with medpacks on the field. But if you've got some time on your hands, nothing crucial is going on, and you're near the armory, you can hump it for a medpack to save the comm some res.
If the armory did heal at regular intervals, the commander would just stick an armory down during a hive assault and have the team hump it for medpacks, relieving the commander of one of its biggest jobs in the game.

I already do that, not for meds though, for ammo.
It's alot cheaper in the long run.

I suppose it's random, but I seem to get a med most often if I am low on health (50 or below), just walk up to an armory and hump. Otherwise, I have to wait for a bit.

I find the best way to get med is by tapping my use key as fast as i can.

All I can say is don't hump the armory for a medpack while standing in the gas for 20 seconds. In 20 seconds you could have run away and not died to gas.

I think its fine to spend a bit more res to have your rine's concentration on covering, rather than humping the armory for another clip.

Thats fine when you play on servers with 20+ players. The more marines on the field, the less significant a death of one of them is.
When you play on servers that are actually somewhat balanced due to smaller player numbers (14 players is good; 16 players makes for excellent games; 18 players is pushing it...), you need all the marines you can get alive and shooting things.

Keep pressing your use key on the armory ... seriously just spam it. It gives out meds faster if not within five keystrokes.

I seem to have had a lot of luck switching weapons while holding down the use key. When I switch from the lmg to the pistol it seems to give me a medpack immediatly most of the time.

Load up ammo on your knife. That way you don't end up slowing yourself down with 250 lmg ammo because you couldn't get a medpack.

I always forget to reload it though. You'd think the devs would put some sort of ammo indicator for it, sheesh.

Way to magically get medpacks from armory:
1)Approach armory
2)Hold down "e"
3)Continue holding down "e" untill hp is 100
4)Slap yourself for not discovering this on your own

I would attack you with something like "way to read threads: blah" but I'll just tell you to read the whole thread.
Can't see why it's random. It shouldn't give a medpack instantly, but it shouldn't take 10 seconds to get one either.

I find the armoury most useful at the start of the game. If I head out one way, meet a team of skulks and manage to take them on I can quickly nip back and heal up.
It's also a great thing to do when you're defending a pg and need to reload, start reloading - hop in the pg - hold e on armoury - phase back when almost reloaded. Saves your com time, keeps you healed up and keeps you safe while you reload.

I see the armory workin like this:
1. it takes an average of 3 seconds holding down the e key to get a medpack...
However the armory only gives out a medpack every X seconds...
When u have lotsa ppl humpin without health... it only gives to one of em... then has to "recharge"
Ive NEVER had a problem if im the only one in base...
but if there is a bunch of people gettin armor/meds from it.. it takes a while to get the rotation around to you.....

Thats how i see it workin.... im not sayin im right..... but thats how it appears to work to me

the marines are fine, if you have the time hump the armory, if ya don't then don't, simple as that
I know sometims it can be frustraiting waiting for meds, but lots of things in the game are . like being devoured . but its in the game and its no big deal it happens
so yeah I don't really have a big problem with random meds
nice sword by the way
