Full Version: Alien Spawn Point Choice.

It would be really great if aliens spawned in those spawn locations NOT currently in marine line of sight. Of course this should only happen where possible. If all points are visible, aliens should still spawn, and in NS games should still spawn at the hive they are supposed to.

Well intentioned... but then marines would be able to manipulate which spawn point aliens spawned at... which is a bad thing, and could be abused in more ways than i have time to think about.

Or perhaps aliens should spawn in a protected room with multiple short passages to the hive room. Just to avoid the "spawning in the crosshairs" effect.

I like that too, although multiple really would have to be multiple enough that you could not just point a gun at each entrance and wait for RFK. Watch also for a couple of GL-spammers shooting their flaming pooballs into the secret spawn room.

Maybe there could be a second setof spawn points for use when the hive was under attack, they could be spread out over a slightly wider area than the usual "inside the hive" points. That way aliens could sometimes spawn in adjacent rooms or corridors and make their way in to the marines, who would hopefully be looking at/shooting at the hive.

OR.. maybe rather than localized spawn points, have a very wide spawn area in which aliens are placed out of marine sight. That way the problem (thanks AlmightyNu) with marines knowing the last unseen spawn point would be negated, as skulks would be spawning in any number of nooks and crannies around the hive room and nearby corridors.
