Can anyone tell me some good co_ and ns_ maps for newbies?
Are there any outdoor maps or are they all indoors? Thanks

eciplse and tanith are good maps to cut your teeth on. I like co_angst, but that's just personal preference. Play some combat so you know how to fight and then go play classic, just remember the differences.

ns_hera is a fun map if u know how to hide as marines
other than that good co_ are pulse, angst, and faceoff and good ns are tanith, eclipse, and mineshaft

It's all personal preferrence really. There are no "newbie" maps, but some maps are simpler than others. Tanith is simple as it has very few small corridors. Hera is reasonably simple, but, imo, some parts of eclipse are maze-like. I played Ns for about 2 months before finding my way around triad access B/C.
Newer maps, such as ayumi, are amazingly complex and "sprawled." ns_metal less-so, but only just.
It's hard to catagorise them really. Just dive in and find ones that suit you and your playing style.

ns_lost too. But, ironically, it's been lost...
(Causes server crashes. Bring on the fix!)

I've taken a liking to nearly all of the official maps. However, make sure you have your "+showmap" (I think that's the command) key bound to something that you can reach easily. It helps a LOT.
(As a side note, I think they have ns_lost lined up and fixed for B5.)
(*EDIT* sorry to nitpick, but ns_lost causes client crashes as opposed to server crashes. But you were close.

Maps for players just starting to learn ns? I would say keep an eye on this one:
http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...showtopic=76128They are creating somekind of hazard course map to educate new players about the functions/buildings/features etc... I certainly hope they finish it

1) w00t, and yes, I read bug tracker too.

2) Erk. You sure? When ever I put it on server the clients crash, but so does the server. The two events are generally not coherent though; client A leaves suddenly, client B follows, server becomes unresponsive.

Continuing OT...
I didn't know that. I'll take your word for it that it also causes a server crash, but I do know that it causes client crashes (I'm still on the server when their player freezes and does "the lag dance" when killed).
