I've been working on this for 3 - 4 hours now, and just finished it really. I can see it still has a few errors in parts with smoothing, maybe some vertex errors too but meh, its my first player model

and i'm quite proud of it seeing as how well it went. I kinda learnt some new techniques as i went along too which was cool, i normally stick to certain methods :\. Anyways, the model is based on some concept i found on google lol, but i modified it in quite a few places since i didnt know who it was by. i think the head looks kinda stupid, but since its still wip i can change that. C&C appreciated

and about the polycount... lets just not go there, i think i need to set myself a limit next time.
Crappy render :\ i didnt want to wait for a better one with good shadows because it was taking way too long:

Looks very detailed and clean. I like how you made all the features... wow. The face however looks like a form :O face on the side :O

O_O with trouble. I think if i deleted all the faces that you can see that'd bring it down by about 5 or so thousand, because i havnt optimized it at all yet. Then i could try poly crusher on it or just delete any other faces that arent needed to get it down a bit more i guess. Or just remodel it but low poly

That's awesome, and I'm sure the polycount is something some heavy optimisation could fix (a lot of those details could be skinned on). It doesn't strike me as something that'd fit NS very well, but it'd certainly not look out of place in something like ut2k4.

WHOA! If I were a skulk, i'd have a heart attack if that came marching at me with an HMG, you should design a specific set of weapons to go with it now...maybe something that appears to be integrated with his arm? Just an idea.
Anyway, looks damn nice.

that must be the wrong polycount or the poly poly count not the mesh poly count couse its very detailed. polycount must be around 10000 - 12000

hmm could you make a version with a plain surface such that the face is flat, so any picture could be skinned on it.

as for the still looking good part, a good skin can do alot.
and as for fitting in... how could it not? mean... big, mean, tough looking and utterly unafraid of anything... that just screams HA train at yah

only thing that would be needed was something different with the face... hmm maybe something like a holo face... you know like the one drug-addicted robocop had.

So far, I’ve seen only two HA models, one was the original just colored black, and the second just had a big backpack model on it.

Try to delete some of the more small details and the pc should be just fine around 5000 polies or even a bit more

get rid of all the groove like vent stuff... that can be skinned, adjust sum of the more, overdetailed parts and then it'll be fine, i've got a 6k player model sumwhere, so it's not gonna be that bad

i know

well sort of, i appreciate you trying to help me. It's just so very few of my models ever get skins on them either because their not meshed or no one actually wants to skin them :\, but ill do what you say and see what happens (some of my models complete, hopefully) i guess. Alot of my models i do just for fun knowing that they wont get skinned or any where near completion anyway, thats why im learning how to skin

. And dark soul, ill try and remodel it but with less detail to see what it comes out like...
