This has been mentioned before, in a way, but not in any way where it would work well or make sense.

I think it would make sense for the Skulk and Lerk bite to take a small percentage of health when biting a marine. Like if you had 60/0 health/armor as a Skulk and you bit a marine, you would have now maybe 65/0 health/armor (Value subject to change). This would work on damage percentages so Focus could be used to enhance this innate ability, thus making Focus better for late game when marines have full armor and so on.

It would make some sense if you think about it. I mean, if I was a Skulk biting some poor blokes shin, I'd eat it. If I was a Lerk, seeing a lone marine wander around, I'd swoop in, grab a piece of his shoulder, fly away eating it. Yum.

Unbalanced or not, this wouldn't make too much difference to a shotgun blast, but it would be helpful for those escape situations.

It seems good, but the badly outdated manual states that the hives have removed their need for food to survive.

Then why does devour give health then? Devour is like the ultimate bite and that's kind of what I'm going for here.

Another thing hit me. Being tied to Focus as I have it woud make a major boost in the Sensory chamber as the developers are always trying to find a way to make all chambers great at start. Since almost everyone always goes for Regen all the time with Defence Chambers even though it is kinda worthless with a Skulk, they could get Sens up and get Focus to get health back per bite and do more damage. Also, as a gorge I would always rather be cloaked or be able to know where the enemies are than having to rely on Redemption or my fat little legs to dodge a single marine. It would work all around, I'd think.

I have suggested this AGES ago. Skulk bites and lerk bites make sense since they have flesh inside their mouths that could nurture them... It would really help the "weaker" classes stay alive a bit longer. Too much coding for devs however, they are probably fixing bugs before adding new things.

Sorry Smood, When I searched, the only matches I found were stuff like skulks eating dead marines and that kind of thing. But, maybe the Focus thing sets it apart from yours then? I'll go check yours out.

Don't say sorry for me, you don't have anything to be sorry about. It's good that some people use the search engine rather than posting just off the wall... I'd have to say thank you for that. I integrated your idea into my thread as well, go take a look! I call it absorb, a nifty name, wouldn't you agree?

I am saying you have a good idea and it is good that you bring this idea back to the surface. All ideas are good, except some are hard to implement. I feel this idea could be added later on beta 4 version 1 perhaps? All I said was we think alike, good job. smile.gif
