(Note: Lock this thread if it is inapropriate.)
The hl2 mod Operation Desert Storm needs mappers. Good ones. mappers capable of very good, detailed maps. Hl2 maps with desert type environments. Cities, barren deserts, etc. They have to be larger than normal Hl maps, because once again this is hl2.

this is a BIG no no, but i think they MIGHT let this one go.. if you want to do other map advertisements, ASK the forums admins first, so they KNOW its there... and then they dont lock it, and then you keep postin the same thing....
pm me about more the mod ^_^

first of all:
its about ns mapping. ns means "natural selection" and its a hl1 mod.
so this doesnt fit here.
second:
halflife 2 isnt released yet. noone knows how to handle the new engine. so its quite uninteresting in the moment.
third:
plans for a mod to a game that hasnt been released... well... thats kinda... lets say OPTIMISTIC.

not to mention, mapping desert environments sounds kinda dull

I also don't think that there are any mappers right now intrested in joining mod teams for HL2. I think many of us have several projects we want to try out with the new tech before we commit to anything. And this is probally the wrong place unless you got permission from a mod then it's fine.

Mod X needs mappers. Bad ones. :p
Just kidding ;)
I really don't think you can expect mappers to jump on board this early. I'd wait until the game's been release and we've had plenty of time to play with the new hammer. Unlike modellers, mappers don't have the luxury of been able to produce content before we've got the editor in front of us (there's a leaked copy floating around, but I don't endorse that sort of crap).
Lastly I'll mention that the kind of content you're asking for isn't exactly that hard to make - terrain and large cities are generally simple, if tedious, tasks. Basically you could probably learn all that's needed to make that kind of environment in a week, possibly less.

Yes, mom. Oh yeah, the spelling police called. They want you to spell "sense" and "sentences" correctly.

ARAGHHHHH

I guess I could have just reported him, but I don't particularly like getting people in trouble. BTW, I'm gonna leave the spelling mistakes in, I think its stupid to spellcheck all your posts, just because you're worried someone might knowtice you make spelling mistakes now and then

[edit] I will fix my grammer though, poor grammer bugs me to high hell...
