Well, I got the halo pistol model. I remeshed it. I got it looking 99.9% perfect. Then came animating. Well that didn't work.
Here's a nice piccy of the pistol itself:

Thanks to DR_FUZZY, this beast is now fully animated

That, and it comes with custom Halo sounds

fuzzy if you animate it try and give it the halo like animations i realy like how the chief would pull the slide back

Just copy v_hg.mdl and v_hg_hv.mdl to your STEAMDIR\SteamApps\username\half-life\nsp\models directory. STEAMDIR is wherever you installed Steam, and "username" is whatever your steam username is. Backup the v_hg.mdl and v_hg_hv.mdl in that directory first, then overwrite the originals with these two models.

Animations are what make the 3d model move, uses "bones" much like the human skeleton and you can rotate them and stuff, then set keyfames. Then it moves between the keyframes to each keyframe, making the animation.
Btw someone get me a screenshot of the pisol in its draw animation, I cant see how this thing slides right.

Closest thing I can find is of the pistol while being fired. Some guy took the sniper rifle and zoomed in to look for chinese symbols inside the barrel apparently...

Well, just a update, animations are almost done, so i'll be writing the .qc soon and give a finished version to dorian.
*Edit* Ok its done, but something happens when i compile, ive re-opened(imported) in milkshape and it looks fine, including the smoothing. Ive compiled with both milkshape and a external compiler, and i still get the same probelm.

No, its prob a compile error but i cant find out what it is. Like i said, i re opened the .smd in milkshape and it looks spotless, it just does that when i open it in jeds.. Weird.
Edit: omg in milkshape if i open the coordinator, it looks messed up. but it looks find otherwise. >:/
Edit again: I found out what it was, the stupid 3ds file dont have the object03 group mesh when i import it.

Well I just happen to have the Halo sounds lying around, so yeah that wouldn't be a problem.

Take out "$cliptotextures" in the QC file. Usually that will keep the textures from warping like that.

Okay I made up the sounds. I sliced up the Halo reload for pistol_clipout.wav and pistol_clipin.wav, used the Halo firing soud for hg-1.wav, used the halo slide for pistol_slide_release.wav, used bits and pieces of various ones for hg-deploy.wav and left pistol_draw alone (nothing from the halo sounds could replace it).

Okay I figured out the problem with the meshes. The XBOX meshes were not on the main mesh, they were all left of the main mesh. I didn't notice this, since MAX tiles the bitmap in the UVW editor. However, in MS3D I couldn't see any of them. I moved them all over and aligned the meshes, and all the meshes appear in the right spots in MS3D.

Sounds are too big to post (by 2 kb), so if you just send me the model I'll zip it up and throw together a readme. Oh, and just for said readme, did you use Ice's hands or the NS defaults?

As for enforcer, the mesh is uggggllly. Theres about 1/100th as many invisible edges on it as there were right after conversion, but they're criss-crossing all over. I couldn't easily find them on the actual model, and since they're not hurting anything, I just left them. I can try and get rid of them if you want, or you could just ignore them as best you can

yea, but its not the real model. Redo the halo ar for me and i'll reanimate it. The one i made was just uber crap rush job because i had like 2 hours to do it, and i had finals the next day

Thats what the original halo handgun looks like, without all hte filters and bumpmapping and whatnot. This IS a rip from the game, i hope you all know

only thing i dont like about this is the fire animation when it fires the gun goes a little back then realy forward it just seems odd
