ive heard that WON is shutting down at the end of the summer and the only way to play any half-life games is on STEAM! is there any way to play NS 2.0 with out it asking for the id thing when won shuts down? or will there be a patch for 2.0 that gets rid of it? becuase i perfer to play ns 2.0 instead of 3.0 ( no offense or any thing )

yes won is shuting down, but in order to do as u say the devs would need to create a whole new online service, and steam isnt that bad after the updates are done. So just try steam and maybe ul like it.

Use the Steam server browser after installing NS in steam it will show you NS servers, nuff said.

yes, the WON servers will go away.
yes, there are a few 2.0 servers on steam (last I checked about 2 tounge.gif, well, probably more...)

You also need the 2.0 steam patch, it fixes a number of steam related issues (no it isNOT offical, you need to poke around)
