omg.. lol this guy is the bob ross of 3d modelling tounge.gif ive really enjoyed this videos. he got a really strange but effective way to model complex shapes.
Burncycle
I like Ichi's stuff, it's very clean

Here's an example of a rifle he's done for a mod. Why don't we see concepts like that around here? wink.gif

Too bad the videos are in .rar format sad.gif ah well

I hadn't watched them when I posted them, but I can't really figure out how this was a weird method. I don't use max, so I can't totally relate, but this didn't really seem out-of-the-ordinary to me. I have to say, though the optimization part was pretty funny.
Chrono
i find it wierd cuz hes starting from a plane and creating vertexes i dunno its just not the way i do it

*be nice.*

like he said in his video he knows that "lots of people model like this" but he showed his mate off the forums and he was shocked. I would have been to. The first temptation when u model is to use box modelling and then u end up using splines and stuff to get the complicated parts, etc etc.
frostymoose
some people said here that it was an interesting method. I didn't see how, so I asked. I'm sorry I asked a question. It was wrong of me.
aegix
That method beats the crap out of box modelling imo. Going to give it a try tonight.

Right day, wrong year tounge.gif

I've got all but video 7 on my hard drive, I'll see if I can't host them, but it will probably be tomorrow sometime.
Kaine
that would be awesome. hope to see em soon smile-fix.gif

Personally I just use box modelling and face/poly extrusion.
I find it works absolutely fine for me.
Condizzle
Breakthrough is the master of threadcromancy. I usually only check the date of something. Anyway, I'd like to see these too.

yep.

...I don't find that kind of modelling weird. It's just like box-modelling but you're adding vertexes instead of extruding (which is kind of same).
Personally I don't like to limit my capabilities to one single method. That's why when I'm modelling I use multiple different methods (that one, splines, box-modelling and so on).
