Hackers

Well I was just wondering are people able to hack on the newest beta version easilly? Because when I put secure only on filter list no servers come up and I find it kinda weird can some one fill in te dotted lines for me?

Natural-Selection does not support VAC (yet, it will once NS 3.0 goes final), therefore, there can't be any secure servers.
About the hacks: I think that hacks from previous versions do work with newer versions as there is not that much change. Also, be careful about who you accuse, most of the time it will just be skill.

Yeah, Hacks do exists. No secure servers, Grillkohle said why.

And it's also true not go around and yell that some peeps are hackers, it can make you a really bad reputation really fast. Just got called Hacker on a server becaues I alwayse knew where he was, while I was using SoF... so watch out before calling peeps hackers .

Yeah as he said most of the alien upgrades give advantages that could be simulated by hacks.

Best one I heard was on a combat map, I had silence and I was listening to a marines footsteps with my headphones and could tell from experience he was on the other side of the wall, I went round through the door and killed him. Next thing .I know he calls me a hacker because "I was looking through the wall at him".

I asked why did he think that and he told me he knew due to his wall hack!!!! He then logged out because he said he didn`t like getting killed by hackers

If you think someone is hacking tell an admin associated with the server or go to thier IRC channel. They wil then check them out for you.

One thing I have noticed about hackers, they dont like NS, they stick to CO.

Also NS is one of the few mods where hackers can be still beaten by skill. So even if they hack they are not going to have an easy time like on CS.

Only seen one hacker and he had a speedhack. Only guy I have ever seen hack so this game must be lucky unlike CS I suppose for the time being.

There were a lot more hackers in 1.x (i'd even see speed hacks once or twice a week on average), but my theory is that since the reward is so low for all the trouble and risk, there's no point in hacking NS. As was mentioned, it's not hard to kill hackers if they don't know how to play the game.

I played many hours of combat and classic and saw a speedhacker only once.
He lagged, shot/knifed and moved really fast.
I webbed him while my mates killed him again and again and more important most guys ignored him.
Guess he lost his fun cause he left
