Hello Matteh, welcome to the forum.
If you seek some tips for beginners, then you should have a look at the new player forum on this board. There are also some beginners guides stickied there.
As for some beginners tips:
Play as marine first and follow your waypoints, never run off alone and don't grab equipment that your comm drops for someone else.
You build Structures by pressing "E" (default setting).
When building structures, do NOT build without someone guarding the process
(unless you are alone). if nobody goes on watch, do it yourself.

Welcome. This forum is a great place to look around and get a feel for some of the things that make ns what it is. Don't forget to ask people what things are for and for some tips. If they blow you off find a better server or ignore the unhelful as they are most likely new themselves.
You may find that some things take a while to master, but stick with it its a great game. Get the basics then i would recomend finding a server with good teamwork and deccent players.

exactly what the two above me said.... new player forum, the 'tactics' forums, here, any where really
if you use irc, stop by #naturalselection on gamesurge (official channel) or #nsguides on gamesurge where the NS guides are waiting to answer any and all of your questions and problems

(if you don't use irc, and want some more detailed help, pm any one from the NS Guides group.... is what we here for)
enjoy playing NS!

Related post nuked.but anyways. one good tip i can offer is, if you have a mic then use it with extreme care (at least if youre european

) abusing voice comm is the second best way to ensure bad reputation for yourself. the best way is to hit the comm chair without having a clue.

Here's a simple beginner's guide to being a marine:
_________________
You can only do the following things:
Build structures that commander has dropped (you can't drop your own structs or anything)
Get ammo from the armory
Shoot stuff
Everything else is done by the commander.
Oh, and until you understand the game a bit better, it's usually best to not really ask for anything from the commander (guns, buildings, upgrades)... You don't really know what you're doing yet (=
Once you know what everything is for, and understand the game a bit better, then go ahead and ask away.

Try to run spell check and check for grammer.
Search the forums for previous post on the topic.
Give details. We can't read minds.
Post in the right place. Look at all the topic headings.
Don't spam useless stuff.

Oh and "matt3h", here's a tip for using the forums:
Adjust your attitude and don't act like you're the most amazing player ever. People are trying to be friendly with new players, and now you just bollocksed them off.
In addition, try to post in the proper forums and do a search using the search function in the lower right to see if someone has already started a topic about something you wanted to discuss. Furthermore, when you do so, please check the dates to see that you're not replying to an outdated topic.
Be normal, be nice, you'll get far.
