i've cloaked in other games and whenever you do it you have a feeling that people can still see you, in the manual it says the different styles with all 3 levels. but what if i guy comes straight up to you and blows your head off, is there a temporary third-person view to make positive your not clearly visible?
Moleculor
At level three cloaking, you're entirely invisible. At the other levels, you're not.
Sky
right, they said that in the manual, but how invisible are the first two stages, is it not worth useing till level 3?
Necro
RTFM

Sky

You never go third person.  In anything.

When you go invisible, your model (teeth, claws, horns, whatever) go transparent on your screen, to let you know.

The other two levels of cloaking are still quite good, and I've had many marines run past me while I was in a dark area with only level 1 cloaking.  You just need to be smart where you use it.
Sky
that makes sense, thanks silver fox
Legionnaired
Well put silver fox, but I can't help noting that you will have the opportunity of seeing other players with cloaking after the release.

Lets try to be a little more kind to our newcomers, ok guys?
Bob_the_Alien

Remember, if a playtester says something "looks like this" or "has this effect ingame", believe 'em, they've played it for a while. Everyone else, be helpful, but don't assume anything you don't know without a nice little disclaimer (ie. "as far as I know", "as I understand it", "as proclaimed by Flayra/MonsE/etc.") Makes everything easier on the newbies and the regulars.
Shifty_Eyes
I understand the original posters problem, I'm known among my friends for being able to see 'invisible' people in games at a glance. Anyone remember the Predators in AvP? That wasnt that effective.
