If you've worked a lot with the mp3 format before, you are probably familiar with the small portions of silence that are always put at the beginning and the end. Unlike wav files, mp3 files also don't support any sorts of cues that might aid in seamless looping. My question is this: is there any way in NS to get around the short pause between the end and the beginning of the sound when an mp3 is looped, or am I relegated to making it fade out at the end and pretend like nothing's wrong?

P.S. here is my face when I am searching INTARNET to find the answer to this question: >:(

P.P.S. here is the mp3 format: pudgy.gif
here is what I think of the mp3 format: asrifle.gif pudgy.gif

Whenever I go to use a sound in a map I find that I cant use mp3's (They dont show up when looking for a sound file).

You may want to try downloading Goldwave (http://www.goldwave.com/). It allows you to place cues and you could always add in a moment of silence at the end of the mp3.

I'm actually already using Goldwave. The problem with mp3s though is that no matter what editing program you use, there's always a bit of silence that gets added to the beginning and end.

As for loop points, most programs have their own way of putting them in, but you cannot actually save them in the mp3 file itself. The mp3 format does not support cues/loop points.

Thanks for your astute comments though.

you could also just convert the mp3 to a wav and use that. just google for a converter program.

As you know, shooting cute and innocent gorges is wrong, and deserves a public beating...

You're best bet is to use some song that already has silence, so its not abrupt, otherwise you cant do anything about it tounge.gif

All right, thanks for confirming my suspicions! Time for some redesign work!
