i just started playing NS a few hours ago, and iv ran into 2 really abusive commanders....they dont give you anything and they give you orders to run directly into an enemy hive and stuff..is there a way to get rid of them?

ZiGGY^ your not exactly helping, the point of forums isnt to get people to stop playing. Anyways Communist_Kirby their are only a few like that, and you should just try listening to them instead of expecting stuff.

Well, to be honest Communist_Kirby, a lot of the time that's how the game works...

There are a lot of times in Natural Selection where you're just throwing yourself at the enemy, and staying alive isn't really an option. I suppose i'm used to that, and don't really even notice it, because i play on dialup and i die a lot no matter what game i'm playing. But in NS, i'm more often charging toward certain death, simply because that's all that you CAN do when the other team has a resourse advantage and is sending fades at you non-stop, or you're trying to take down a hive and it's lamed up with OC's. In other objective based games like DoD, there aren't things like Onos to rip you apart. If you want to enjoy Natural Selection, i suggest starting to think about some of the aspects that make it different from DoD and CS, namely it's resources, and the strategies that involves.

Another thing to remember is to NEVER ask for anything as a player. There are very few exceptions, such as: Resource towers, phasegates (when you're in the right place), and welders. Your commander will decide who to give weapons to, and when. Get used to following orders, and unless you do very, very well, expect no rewards or recognition. However, be a whiny jerkoff asking for a shotgun every time you spawn, and the commander will make a point not to give you equipment (At least, I do).

Just be patient, and get used to your light armor and light machine gun.

Also an important thing to know about commanders is that they have their own commanding techniques, their own style of tactics, if you wanted a commander to have the same game style all of the time, NS shoulda made the commander abot which woulda made it less fun.

Commanding is also hard, you try it sometime, it gets annoying when you want something done but your team just runs of doing what they like.

if u still dont like the marines point of view (i.e. being shouted at by comm to do suicidel runs) then simpley go aliens... they are more independant, because of res sytem meaning u can get what u want, when u want...

They also need it to beat an un-orgainsed alien side.

just a shame the euro ns scene is ruined by arrogant clanners who think they're much better than theyr'e actually are.. hahaha you remember echelon? he was arrogance personified but at least he actually had some skill, there's just no feeling of fun as everyone is bitching about each other all over the place.

i'm not a brilliant player, and i don't really even wanna bother playing ns until this community sorts it's self out.

I agree crono sometimes I just can't be bothered with it, but just look at it like this: At the end of the day it's just a game which, lets face it, isn't really that important in the grand scheme of things. And of even less importance is the happenings within the online scene of that game considering most players are <18 and you will probably never meet them. No one gets on with everyone and behind a computer screen people take things too seriously/take jokes literally/say things they can get away with - everyones done it and it's the bane of every scene, not just NS. Though I agree most of the clanners are not as good as theyre cracked up to be (especially in other games/with default settings )

I usually ask the comm to get the team things ie when there are fades about Ill say something like:
"comm there are fades I think we might need shotties" or something like that, usually just something like: *gets fragged by fade* crap fades
I dont ask for the stuff personally because i like the lmg cept against and and

The commander does not value your life, unless for some reason you have something he gave you. You're just not worth it. That's how commanders think, and knowing when to not drop meds. If you drop meds constantly, your outta res so fast.
