Hello, I was wondering if it were by design or a bug that always when using a movment chamber from a hive you will warp you to the farest hive. This can be problematic if the movements keeps on bringing you to two farest hives while you are trying to get to the 3rd built hive. I have had a few games were a marine was able to seak into general cargo hive (eciplse?), an alien teammate notifying the alien team about the PG, the alien use the movement chambers in the nearest hive only to get stuck teleporting back and forth to the wrong hives (sub and pipe) . Its not until the rines are shotting or sieging on the hive that this is corrected. Its frustraining when you use a movement chamber and can't get to your desire destaination, not only for hive defense but just general movement. If this is indeed a bug, I have a few suspects that might be the culprit. 1. Does builting the movement chamber before the hive is up affecting where the aliens teleport? 2. The 3rd hive is destoryed and is rebuilt with or without the movement chamber inact. Teammates using the movement chambers are the same time? 3. Movement chambers outside of hive area? Thanks in advance.

AFAIK. The movement chamber are suppose to work that way, teleport you to the furthest hive or the one unders attack.
1) I don't think so, since it will always target the furthest hive.
2) I don't think that affects the telport either since you will be both teleported to the same hive (AFAIK by experience)
3) That's a good one, but I think it will be the furthest hive from your current location, but don't quote me on that.

yes, it is by design
MC wil lalways teleport you to the hive furthes from your location (thus the middle hive is a problem)
and once a hive is underattack all MCs will go directly there.
If multiple hives are under attack, I don't know

Yup, this is quite annoying. One solution is to plan where you're putting MCs in a hive. For instance, in Refinery on ns_bast, placing an MC in a certain corner rectifies the problem. Another fix is to keep an MC at often-travelled, defendable locations (resnodes) or even outside of the hive in a secluded corner. Make sure you tell your team it's there, though! An MC in double can often go a long way if you've got Onos.

It would be nice if movents would teleport to one location like phasing, but that may effect balance.

And this good also encourage people to come OFF dms, and onto something like smd, or mds...
but yeah, balancing..

This is a brilliant solution to the middle hive problem. I wish I had thought of it. :[

it only works in certain hives though. Refinery is huge and it's the only reason why it works. Though generally that's the way to go. Rather than to head towards the hive, move away from it and place a MC a bit away. It'll usually be a leap and a few hops away

Well, they had to chose closest or farthest hive, because they need to code the MC with a target, they chose farthest because it helps you cover more ground faster.
It would be nice if they would implement a "phase type menu" just like that plug-in where a tiny menu comes up and you tell it to what phase to phase, that would allow you to select what hive to go to, but it would detract from the alien ambience (sp?) and could ruin the fell of being an alien... Maybe with the right text and a fancier menu...

if they chose closest it'll be totally useless. The closest hive is the one you're already in usually (excluding off-hive movement chambers)

Heh, yeah if the MCs teleported you to the closest hive, you'd kind of go nowhere unless the MCs were out of the hive room. Even then they'd just suck you back to the closest hive.
Don't forget, you always teleport to a hive which is under attack, even if it isn't finished building yet. In official games where FriendlyFire is activated, a skulk can bite the building hive once or twice, doing damage to it and letting the team teleport to it when the game thinks the hive is being attacked.

i think thats a problem with ns_bast. try getting to feedwater from furnace or engine! one game i plopped into the movment chamber a good 4 times and i was sent from furnace to engine, engine to furnace, blah blah. but i thought feed water was closer to furnace! a mystery.

This was discussed, but is not possible due to random onos teleportation issues...
MC in vent.
Onos MCs in...
Onos unleashes a series of curses at gorges in general and then types "kill" in console.
Cool trick on bast though. Must try that.

How about if MC would teleport u to random hive ? If there are 3 hives and u use mc in one it would be 50% chanse to get hive u want, and usually every hive has MC when 3 hives up so if u would just keep trying u will get to hive u want.
