I played ns for about a year without any problems.. now the great valve team made a steam update about yesterday or today. After the update I start steam as before, then clicking natural selection. The backround screen from ns appears the I get dropped to windows desktop.

Any suggestions ? Any ppl with sam eprob since new steam update ?

CD problem with latest steam update, close CD

woa thx !! hmm crazy now i have about 200 ms lag.. Steam rulez.

yeah, it seems that when they updated steam and hl. Now hl sees cd as a hack and terminates hl right away

because hl crashes on a compadibility issue, because the new update, hl dont know how to start up with the changed code in HL.
that is my theory

It tends to mess up when HL changes. (this has always been the case with 3rd party anti cheats, learn to live with it and wait for their update)

Don't even think of pulling another "OMGZOR STEAM IS TEH SUX!"

this hapend all the time back with WON.
And it happens with other third party anti cheat, for a while Punk Buster (no longer used in HL) was giving certain people BSoDs.

It appears that I get this problem with or without Cheating Death running. With the quite realistic assumption that I have no hacks installed, what other possible reasons are there that its crashing?

The new C-D that fixes this is released, but it seems the auto-update link is broken. You have to download it manually from the UA site.

why dont they just add cd with hl in their next patches? this way its always on, and you dont have to worry about problems?


like they add the cd source code to the steam? :-o

b/c CD is not afiliated with Valve in any way sape or form?
Valve has their OWN anti cheat (aka VAC)?
