We (the clan =DirtyDozen=) are aware for all the FPS games and particulary for the HL mods.

How did you learn about Natural Selection
Some of the Guys on Battlefields were talking about a mod for HL (I still love HL) and these guys are seldom wrong (except for IL2!!! ) and it sounded like Starship troopers - which I love. So after they built up there own server and bitched about it crashing I waited a week then had a go. I got the uploads from Australia (of all places!!) and have never looked back.

When the server dies these days I just feel for the other players - Im quite used to the server deaths bu I think osme other guys (probably admins) go mental.

Great mod - maybe there is some clean up code that can run between map restarts??

I am so happy there is no scoreboard for kills!!

I've been playing hl and mods since it (and they) was (and were) released, and this is simply awesome!

I remember reading about NS a long time ago, but forgot all about it. I sort of got tired of Half-Life and all games related to it, and started playing other things. Then one day my roommate asks me if I've ever heard of NS. I'm like, "Sorta...Sounds familiar..." We both download the game and start a LAN game to test it out. Seems like a great game just messing around, but a 1v1 isn't as good as 10v10, so we both jump online and look for some servers. We find about 30 open servers and jump on in as marines (you know, starting noob style). I've been addicted ever since! I truly enjoy this game more than anything I've purchased within the last couple years!

I play all sorts of games exept sports Ive played most of the mods for half-life my fave is Firearms. ive just started playing NS but my rogers cable is unreliable so i can barely get a 20 min game in(per day!!!) were switching soon. Hi !! I'm Dan from NJ. I've been play'n this awsome mod since it was released not too long ago. I'm new to the forums so i figured I'd say wazzup to everyone. I go by Deunen on NS and i usually play on Coronas, clan 216 , or the voogru server. Great work on this game its a beautiful blend of brains and brawn gameplay instead of mindless frags.

I guess it's my turn to introduce myself. I'm a 25 newbie player from France. I started playing NS 2 days ago, and find it totaly awesome. It's still kinda hard to find descent server here, they are full of the usual CS-player ("Go go go!", no strategies, only rush ), so what I've seen fore now is marines with no commander and/or aliens totally blowed up, but I'll keep looking for a group of people willing to play NS correctly .

I think I downloaded NS sometime in late november, close before patch 1.03 I believe. I'm getting very good at it, though still have a lot to learn for commander and gorge tactics.

Actually only yesterday I found-out about the aliens upgrades I was wondering why my fade would die so easily compared to when I fight them. No one would tell me why, but that's what u get from the Half-Life community (most of them, not all).

Very very good mod, people! I would recommend you try and sell it and I bet you will do great as CS had done. Just gotta fix the commander a bit and make his controls more RTS-like I think. I play this all the time now so it's very addicting. There's nothing like great teamwork dominating the other team, and hiding in vents laughing at the marines.

You'll probably see me hanging around the strategies' pages.

BTW I'm from Alberta, Canada and I found-out about this mod from fellow Serious Sammers who are bored with the bad netcode

On behalf of all the other "mehn", I would like to simply post that the [mahn] clan is new to NS (that is to say, i think we started at 1.02 which isn't that old at all). I use the term clan loosely, we're more like just a bunch of (3-letter word meaning "happy") miners. You'll know us when you see us, we usually try to swamp a server 3-6 of us at a time, but the more devoted players also play on our own.. myself, [mahn]jooce, [mahn]sawce, and [mahn]xkreet.. we'd like to think we're getting pretty good as far as pub noobs go. maybe some day we'll get it together and play some "scrimmages".

Huge pings but i dont notice lag as much as in other games!
I have been learning this mod for a few days now, even called into work sick just so i could play some more! I love the way u forced teamwork in the game... if u dont work as a team, u aint gonna win!

Howdy to all of you, im from the UK and been playin NS for a couple months now and decided it was about time to hit the forums and find out whats happening and whats due to be released etc.

Also would like to get in touch with the creators about future plans and things as i feel that i would be able to help quite a lot. Mainly because (although i dont like to say it) im one of the best european players out there atm.

Currently i play for clan DW (Division.Wiking) who are #1 in the clanbase international NS ladder and we're always open for a pcw #Division.Wiking .

a mate of mine with whom I used to play a lot of Counterstrike one day told me he found a brand new game which beat CS on every front, playability, speed, excitement, and teamplay, and said it had a coolness factor that went of the scale..

me, being the sceptic, very much doubted his words.. I mean, better then CS

I set myself to downloading it, and though I considered myself a real hotshot with a Colt or Pup I got wasted before I could say: 'Hi all, how do I play this game?' (nice and N00By, purrfect target for any opponent, hehe)

at first I had it rough.. not even knowing which building to use for reloads, nor not knowing how to deal with turrets conspired to make my life miserable..

then, I finally killed sumfing ! one Skulk greased, what a feel !
and another one, even a third (was kinda staking out a hotspot
'ok', I reckoned, 'I got it down the fingers a bit, I'll reckon a bit and maybe make myself usefull!'

that's when I saw my first Fade.. greased again.. and again... and again.. with no hope in hell of survival!

the team I was on was on the case though, and we managed to kill them off finally.. I relaxed.. I was wrong !!

that's what popped up in my mind when Onos charged and singlehandedly proceeded to lay waste to everything that survived the fades !

and to say they actually encourage new players to go marine, hehe ! I guess the programmers are Alien playas who just wanted to ensure a fresh supply of greenhorn marines!

These days I've improved my alien style quite a bit.. at times I take out 4 guyz who should have been covering each other but somehow managed to stay constructing when seeing me leap!
other days I get wasted in such bad ways I'm not even getting into it !

either way, it's great fun ! NEVER played anything like it, this is th? best fps , and I loove the rts bit too !

won my second game as com yesterday, which I guess I'm good at because I know how the Alien mind workz !

Kudo's to the guys who brought this game to us, you guys are brilliant ! (must get boring hearing it 100 times every day but I still needed to do it ! )

and Kudo's to all ya guys in the forum, let's make everybody know this game, I guarantee CS will be something heard about in a museum in short order !)

only downside I could come up with is that there are kind of few maps.. but I noticed today two more maps hit the servers! (wonder if they're fanmaps, and where I can find the stuff used in making one; myself !)

Hello! I've been playing this game for a couple months now, so im not a newb or anything. When I first started playing I couldn't play because I didnt have OpenGL. BUt, after a while, a week or so, I learned how to change it to Direct3D. It was definately worth the wait! The very first server I joined the marines had about 50 turrets, and the aliens were rushing us with onos, so, we got our butts kicked (plus I was a newb then, so I sucked badly) In short, this game rocks! I still remember the first time I went aliens.

Heard about it through the folks at www.jarhedz.com via joev/grendel/flurz and joesoap who had a server up and were all frothing over this fab new mod you have to try, gave it a shot and what can I say I'm hooked, where do I go for rehab!

I've been playing since the beginning of december, and I love it to death! I've played cs maybe 5 times since I discovered NS. Flayra and his team deserves something like a Nobel award for this kind of product :-D

I'm also in the process of trying to persuade my clan (see link below) to switch from CS to NS. Our Jolt CS server has been empty for a couple of months now and I can't think of a better game than NS to change to. TBH we're all a bit bored of CS and a few of us play NS already (It was my clan leader who introduced me to NS in fact)

LOL...You don't "smell" Fizzer...It's just this thread has been going on so long most people who frequent the forum have already signed up. You just have an occational straggler or person who decides to throw in their info just cuz. Hell, last time I posted on this thread (to do the official announcement thang) was around November 26th! I may be from the USA (or the "Colonies" for you UKers ), but it's great to hear people all over the world playing NS...and whole Clans joining the cause! Wonderful!
