is there a way to avoid the ready room being made into your map sprite?
i'm sorry for all of the n00b questions, but i do look around for an answer before i post, sorry about the leak one though.

make the readyroom higher than the commander view (or lower than the commander view cutoff point)
that should fix your prob

thanx!

in case anyone REALLY important reads this, this might be a little tip to add to the mapping guidelines in the map sprite section. it wouldn't take more than a sentence. just to make sure noone screws it up

edit:
one more question, is there any way to make a selection box around an area of things and select everything in it? i thought it woulda been "select all" but that selects EVERYTHING.
thank you again!

instead of just clicking on something in the 2D view, click-hold and drag a selection box
it might grab some extra objects, but its normally quicker than manually selecting every brush you want to move

but after you have the box, do you do anything? i can make the selection box, but it doesn't select them automatically.
edit:
question! IMPORTANT!
.res files, do they just not work if you host a LAN game? i'm on a LAN and another comp wouldn't DL all of the files, even though i have all of the needed files in a res file in my /maps folder. am i doing something wrong?

once you have made the selection box, hover your pointer over one of the 2D views and press enter
:edit:
im not sure how the res files work, but is the server set to allow downloads?

i don't believe you get a choice on LAN games, or any i thought. the other computer will download the .bsp but none of the other files.
btw, thanx Neo, took me a while to figure out it is you(i tend to ignore sigs), but i am a reg on your clan server

if you want people to download from your server, type "sv_download 1" in the console minus the quotes.
