Ive never been much of a poster here, but i have enjoyed seeing some great maps develop on this board. Anyhow, i thought id share my map with you guys. Its taken me about 6 months of mapping, on and off. Yes... i know im very very slow smile.gif

The map is basically finished, i am/was hoping to get it playtested for a possible official map. I have managed to have some small informal playtests already, and the map is fun to play, lots of action.

snow-room : (where you've got the snow as a ramp) : the steps/stairs to get out of the water make skulks and marins stuck... one brush is too tall..

Hive Room : just too many places for a marine to tuck himself away and blast everything that spawns.

That map looks very nice! I really like that snowy area outside the map. Reminds me of ns_ayumi and I always thought that snow looked great.

hive room could use some more infestation... and cover for skulks (i know it's a cliche... but it can't hurt to remind it every once in a while). other than that, looks very good. download link?

people complain of lack of infestation and lack of skulk cover. i see a most wonderful solution to both problems - brush infestation. put some nice big organic-looking brushes around there and texture'em full-infestation and VOILA.. cover and infestation. it'll take some work but will be well worth it.

Wow, it looks pretty good, though I don't know any of the technical problems people are referring to. I especially like the windows looking out into the snow, and the frostiness on them.

Add some fences and or walls in the hive area, make it harder on marines.

Add some infestation, and don't, DONT change the hallway with a view outside, it's looks like heaven.

The atmosphere looks perfect, please pm me where i can get it, and i'll set up a playtest with the constellation members.

Having actually played the map on a full 16 player server, I can tell you all now that marines spawn camping the hive is not a problem.

Yeh we ran a few 16p tests last night... for the first few games it felt like it was alien biased, but it was really just a case of them overwhelming the marines and cleaning up with them in the spawn queue (combat's inherent nature at the moment with the current spawn system).

After a few games the reverse became true for marines... it's really just about what team makes the most effective push.

A few minor tweaks might be in order by overall this is the best combat map I've ever played...
