How do you create rails effectively? Check this out:

How do I aquire this sense of building rails? I just cant follow!

use the texture, i can't remember off the top of my head, {something. Then func_wall or func_illusion with clip, and rendermode solid.

Do you mean it looks like it has depth due to that shadow on each pole at the top?

Thats in the texture itself, not the actual map

optical illusion since this entire railing is built up out of 1 brush which has been turned into a entity, with the settings

Texture mode: solid
Fx amount: 255

To make it look like that just play arround with the placing of the texture itself

this is how it should look like in the editor (it seems you only built the top part of the railing).
And don't worry about the blue parts they will be invisible ingame if you use the settings

Rendermode: solid (hehe made typo in post before this one tounge.gif)

Ah HA! But... what about the top of the rail?
