I just had an idea for a map maybe these you would call pco for pure combat. All it is, is a combat map with the hive, and cc below ground so no one can kill it, making the game pure combat. The only bad things that might happen is spawn camping. So my maybe to have the hive and cc able to be gotten to. So like marines must weld a door for like a minute inside the alien spawn, and aliens must destory a really REALLY strong door inside the marine spawn. So if there is really bad spawn camping that the game could end.

Also maybe when ever an alien is destorying the door a thing should come on over the map that the door is under attack, and the same with when a marine gets to the door. So you don't have those stealth people trying to end open when no one is looking.

Has this been done before? Is anyone going to make a map like this? What do you guys think?

Someone in my clan made a map relatively similar. It's called King Of The Hill. You had to hold a room at the top of the level for 3 minutes. You couldn't get into the other team's spawn because it was an auto kill. Take out the room objective and put auto kill near the spawns and this could work.

Well, you're free to give it a shot yourself - most mappers here are busy with their own projects and as such they usually don't look at map requests/ideas (or, well, they might look but they usually don't start making it tounge.gif)

Well, as I said, why not try yourself?

Because i can not map, and if i take it up... well it would take so long to (learn how to) make a good map that i might as well start making maps for HL2.

hl2 isn't out yet, and when it is the version of Hammer made for it will look and feel much like the current one. Maybe you could take this as a learning project while you wait.

Or you could just let it not happen.

Working on those already.

I have a map in beta 1 that is based around no-spawncamping called co_secrets but it is Marine vs. Marine.

I had lots of requests to make a similair map for MvA using the impossible to spawn camp and the pure combat concept.

I guess i will make 2 versions: co_purecombat (cant kill cc/hive) and co_pit (anti-spawncamping)

Look for it on NS world and these forums thoughout this month and next month.
