ell, I've been using this mouse for a while now (Microsoft Optical) and now in just HL, that I can see, its acting up. Its not the mouse, I've tried it with a different mouse (same type) and it did the same thing.
I've tried a different mouse pad, nothing.
Got new drivers, still the same, checked.
The mouse smoothing didn't help, it just keeps working, then every like 30 seconds to a minute, either it changes direction or moves the aim/mouse pointer around with me not even touching it.
Also sometimes when I fire, it will keep firing for a few seconds which has resulted in a few tk's.
Any ideas would be nice.

I hope someone can help this guy, I have no idea. I might say maybe a broken PS/2 connector on your comp, try using a non optical mouse, see if that fixes it. If the problem is only with that specific MS Opt. mouse, then it might be some incompatibility problem, unless you didn't experience this before.

Reinstall your graphics card drivers. I'v had a similar problem (or so I think from what I read). I also thought it was my mouse, but it only did it in-game, reinstalling the drivers for my graphics card fixed my problem.

I have this problem. It feels like mouse accelerations however when i turned it off in xp settings nothing happened. My mouse speed seems random, it sticks and moves slowly, the next minute u turn u do 360 degrees b'cos its so sensiitive. It only started happening since XP
