I would LOVE to organise a LAN event in London. We could get some UK based NS players and rent out a hall or something. Who knows? If we get some feedback, lets do it. I'm game for it.

I think quite a few NS'ers are attending i21 in the summer at Newbury though. Not sure if i'm going yet and/or whether anybody has actually signed up yet

I've happily suggesting sorting one, but I'm up in Manchester which seems a bit too far for most.

Best sites would be places like Nottingham or Birmingham, for easy access. *poeks Fam AGAIN*

well i am kinda sure that there may be some LAN events around the london/romford area, but it is planned l8r this year...

my dad is organising it, but i dunno where it will be apart from that main areas... ill inform u all if theres one a bit more up north for.. um... guys up north lol

shud do it in London. But get sponsered by people like AMD that way they could avertise people much more to play in these areas. Because they will get more pulls on their site than they will Here.

The I events are big in the UK. its just cs players tend to go there more.
I play vetruall every hl mod there is and i kno some good players.
but never been to a major lan event. Just have xbox halo eight players... Bliss

I'll put a LAN on if there is enough interest. I'll start doing some research at work (I'm now working for an Events Company). I'll post a thread shortly to see what the interest is like.

iv just noticed that nearly everyone who plays ns is somehow linked to cs...

anyway, if ur gonna hold a LAN event, y not advertise it on here and other, more popular sites... u have to mention that its ns only, so u dont get cs geeks coming in there t-shirts with 'i love cs!' on em... god those ppl set a bad image for the gaming community

Is a good idea - obvious place to host it would be some where centralised (ie Nottingham / Birmingham / Leicester as already suggested)

And saying "NS Only" is a bad idea... playing NS straight for a day or two with the same group of people gets very boring very quickly...

well we need to put it somewhere where everyone can get to it.... i live in the north east of london in a small busy town called hornchurch, so central london would do nicley for me

Would you guys prefer to have it at a Netcafe, where we would be able to play with around a maximum of 24 people at any one time?

Or would you be prepared to lug your PCs across the country in order to play on a larger LAN (or simply because you couldn't bear to part with them)?

id say internet cafe, but woul dwe have to get half life and ns onto the cafe computers or just get steam on there and install that with ns... im confused lol

lugging our pc's across the country would be funny if u didnt do the secret bunker thing that they do round our way... btw if uv neva heard of it, they go into this old secret bunker and for 3 days play games on a big lan NON-STOP! i went once and it was great... its funny when ppl fall alsleep playing cs and ppl are always shouting stuff out like "MATRIX99 U SUCK!!!"

If u wanna big Lan with lots of ppl coming then u gotta have it in the middle,
Around about Sheffield, prob Manchester, Birmingham.
Id say their about the best places to host one, Not because thats close to me but because its central.... ish. Only ppl far far south will have a long way to drive. pluss its got easy access.

And id go to a NS lan party. If it had a few breaks and we played a few other games now and again. But mainly NS. Id definatly be their.

If there ever was a lan in the UK I would definatly go. To do it we need to get a few people together and set a date, then bombard the whole UK NS community. The organisers could proberbly make some money out it, as an incentive for the work the put in, e,g charge everyone £15.

6 of my clan members (including me) live in london. Im almost certain they would attend. Im willing to help out too. Whoever organises it, it will be a good investment, just charge a tenner to get in. London would be the best venue as its very central and alot of the players already live here.

Well.. if you goto the i-series (me ) they host HUGE LAN parties at Newbury racecourse. Maybe if we check that place out and see if we could use that place for 2-3 days.

Hello everyone

My names Poon from Gameon we have hosted 55 lan events in the Midlands and the south, i couldnt help but notice your interest at a NS LAN event and thought we might be able to help out.

The owner of Gameon has been an avid NS fan since release and we have wanted to incorporate it into our LAN's for quite some time but we have had problems getting hold of NS clans to attend for us to run a tournament.

What we would like to do is invite 4 NS clans of 6 free of charge to our next event which is going forward on the 27th to the 30th of august and is being held in Uttoxetor in the Midlands and also invite the UK NS development team to the event who can show everyone there what their MOD's all about.

The reason some of us are so against London is because....

If you don't live there, it's a goddamn NIGHTMARE as a location.

It's decentralised, hard to navigate, expensive, timeconsuming to reach and a PITA to drive around. Yes, a large number of players live there, but a larger number don't. I live in Manchester, and I wouldn't want it held here either, because it'd be hard for you Southerners to reach.

So please, think about everyone else for navigation purposes, okay?

Well every 2 months my local LAN centre runs great all night LAN partys.. Shame Eastbourne is located in such an unfair place for people from the North to come.

I'm sure i could get the LAN to privatley let us use it..
