Ok... I stopped playing NS at aroudn 9:07 pm tonight... and now at 10:15 pm I am no longer able to connect to the STEAM servers... no error mnessage or anything... it just doesn't do anything, doesn't lock, doesnt' freeze (as far as XP's task manager can tell)
Everything seems to be just fine except that it cannot log in... just keeps trying without anythign happening 0o;

It did the same thing to me just now - so I shut it down with task manager. Afterwards I managed to get in after a few seconds. Just one of those quirks, I guess.

Bah come on peeps you must have something else to play

Go complete an epic single player game (Deus Ex)
Play a MMORPG (COH)
Play a RPG (NWN)
Or you could always go out into the real world lol instead of moaning about steam.

now, game starts, that music i had turned off plays, and the buttons dont appear. i left it doing this for an hour, hoping it would eventually come up. never did. im gonna reinstall NS. hopefully that may make it work.

i reinstalled NS. no effect.
cs, dod, tfc, dmc, even ricohet work, just not NS.
before steam done all this crap, i made a small modifycation to ns. downloaded a new lmg model and followed the install instructions precisely.
i thought that might have caused it, so i uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted, tryed it again, no effect. gonna try deleting my clientregistery.blob
ill give back news as soon as i have it.

I did have same problem but its working now. Bit of taskmanager fidling and ASE having a whack at running steam and it worked after updating both steam and HL and CS.
But im in Australia.

STEAM was running all servers at over 100% capacity the past 24 hours... no wonder!
