Wee. I saw an old revived thread for a Nintendo Zapper and decided to give it a go. These pictures are flatshaded because I can't do smoothing groups. The gun is also untextured, I just gave certain pieces different colours. Also, I screwed the back end of the gun up a bit.

Final polycount is: 868

And the second one. Let me know if you want to fix this up/do smoothing groups/skin it/animate it, etc... and I'll give you the MS3D.

Actually, the total simplyness of the whole thing in the picture right now looks "fine" so far tounge.gif

only thing id say is toss the word "nintendo" on the side somehow.

I haven't created a skin for it yet. tounge.gif I just created two materials, one red and the other black. I assigned a few parts red and the trigger and wire black. The rest is the default MS3D gray.

do this:

make a red bmp in paint. assign the red parts to the red bmp.
make a grey gmp in paint, assign the grey parts to the grey bmp. in the corner of the grey bmp have the nintindo logo on it. then go to tools-> texture window or whatever its called. then choose the group you want it on, then from left view, then remap. then move the mapping around so the nintendo is visible.

Are you gonna make one that is all grey. I dislike how orange stands out.

That's up to whoever skins it, those colours are just colours to different parts of the model.

If you give me MS3D (as in, the program) I could try to learn it and then smooth/optimize/whatever you need this for you...

As it is, I can't figure out what I'm using (zModeler) as it has NO tuitorials and also doesn't seem to support any widely used format 0o;

A trial for Milkshape 3D is available here for download. I've attached the model to this post. Thanks a bunch!

nice one... plz finish this, as it will fit perfectly with the super mario pack biggrin.gif

Well, all it needs now is smoothing groups, a skinmesh, a skin and animation. tounge.gif Maybe only changing the reload animation so that he shoots off-screen. And just editing the rest of the animations so that the wire moves around as he moves.
