It was just a couple months ago I got my first release.. Heh, congrats Mem! Awesome model...

...Now all it needs is a TSA-themed skin. wink.gif

animations:

a little robotic...

remember the techniques of animation... i will repete them here for any of those that haven't taken a formal animation class.


Principal Techniques:

Anticipation: you move back a little, before you move forward

Acceleration: you don't start running at your top speed, you have to start slow, and get faster

Deceleration: you don't go from 60 -> 0 in no time... you'll get thrown out of the windshild... instead, you hit the breaks, and SLOWDOWN...

Recoil: you move back a lil before you move forward... this goes with stopping...


Real-World Examples:

Anticipation/Recoil examples: put your index finger to your ear, then snap your arm straigh, and then let it go loose... your arm will straighten, and pull back... (if not your whole arm, your muscles)

Acceleration/Deceleration: go real slow, and ride your bike into something (curbs work well)... stopping slowly doesn't fling you over the handlebars...

Erm, where is the other one? I'm not exactly a fan of these, they're quite stiff..

Animations are okay. The reload animations is a lot better than Del's imo (sorry Del wink.gif ) but the rest is (as already said) quite robotic.

The animations are really jerky and extremely fake looking. As Del said, they're almost robotic. They need to be a lot more fluid, something it entirely lacks.

As to the model, that skin is... horrible. It's excessively wasteful (Why was the magazine texture 512x512 when it only used about 25%?). If you're going to use a number of 512x512 maps, at least use them to their full potential and do some high detail work.

the idea was quite cool... but imo the best reload animation I've seen so far was the one done for drake's HG by def_one (who is truely one of the gods behind NS wink.gif )

the defaults work for the default, but on every other gun ive seen them used on it makes the mag clip thru the handle.

and i think the best reload anim for a pistol is def the reload on the desert eagle over at nsa. not the on by brig the other one. havent seen draks hg though.

He worked on it for a while? I finished the new animation in about 30 minutes. That's why I asked before releasing. Animating a gun like this shouldnt take "a while."

nah meph thats cool.

and it doesnt matter about the skin, skin is easy to change once its modelled. doesnt matter if its animated or not, just gotta import textures in HLMV.

and by a while, i had it for a while. i did about 1 animation a day. and only worked for about 30-45 minutes a day.
