NSArmslab wishes to show it's support for the Natural-Selection community by providing the same great one-stop-shop services
we have provided in the past, with one exception - we want to contribute more. More time, more effort, and more help to ensure
that this community grows and remains exciting. Now, as we know, there are many great members of this community that dedicate
their time and their lives to providing elite custom creations for Natural-Selection. However, many of these creations are
lost to the public in the fast moving pace of these forums and peoples lives. This is where NSArmslab comes in. We are a
dedicated group of NS players who spend our time and our money to serve you, the members of this community because we simply
love this game. Our goal is to build excitement within the Natural-Selection fanbase by providing new and interesting
modifications to the game. Recently, we asked ourselves, "What can we do to help the people who create these modifications?"
We came up with a set of not really incentives, but rewards that we think you might enjoy =D
What NSArmslab is offering:
1. If you submit what we call a "custom detail" (such as a sound pack, sprites, models, maps, or anything used in the process
of making the previously mentioned) or allow us to host yours, we will give you automatically:
- Free personal webspace (50 megs of storage, and your own mysite.nsarmslab.com address or your own domain if you have it)
2. If you submit a quality exclusive (only NSArmslab hosts it), you will recieve:
- Free personal webspace (100 megs of storage, and your own mysite.nsarmslab.com address or your own domain if you have it)
- VIP access to our Contributor Community (you can beta test the best the community has to offer before it's public)
3. If you submit multiple elite exclusives, you will recieve:
- Free personal webspace (250 megs of storage, and your own mysite.nsarmslab.com address or your own domain if you have it)
- VIP access to our Contributor Community (you can beta test the best the community has to offer before it's public)
- A reserved slot on our game server (in the top 10 of Natural-Selection game servers)
4. If you submit many elite exclusives and join us as an "on staff" detail creator, you will recieve:
- Free personal webspace (500 megs of storage, and your own domain if you have it)
- VIP access to our Contributor Community (you can beta test the best the community has to offer before it's public)
- A reserved slot on our game server (in the top 10 of Natural-Selection game servers)
- A personalized @nsarmslab.com e-mail address
- Your name on our Contact page
These rewards are completely free. This is a "win-win" situation. You get to enjoy creating these details and get rewarded for
it. For those who are looking for the recognition or the audience, trust me, you will definately get that with NSArmslab. Like
I said, our goal is to provide one place for someone to quickly find and get what they want. If someone got a model from us,
and enjoyed it, and if that person continues to play NS with their new model, we are happy. We love Natural-Selection and what
we do is for the community.
NSArmslab is one of the most popular Natural-Selection websites around with well over a million downloads per month, and
multi-millions of hits. If you are interested in joining our rewards program, simply complete the requirements and contact us
via e-mail at gary@nsarmslab.com or on our TeamSpeak server and talk to Al Gorge (69.93.197.130). If you have already
completed these requirements in the past, contact us now for your reward.
Thanks for your time. We hope you enjoy this new program and have fun =D

Well there is one pack on the ns armlab site which is mine (The laser pack) Do you consider that to be high quality?
al_gorge
Apr 27 2004, 06:21 AM
yeah I dig the pack the problem is that its old. I think I saw that pack during 1.04 or something. We are looking for wip's or things that about to be released.
But on a personal note I did like the pack when it first was out.

another useful tactic to getting models and skins on your site is to frequent the forums.
edit = ohh, and sorry this post is a little blunt... it's just i'm tired of hearing about nsa and their drama.

This post is to help out the community. We want custom detail makers to get more benefits then just recognition for all the work they do.

I've already got all of the above thanks to a spare linux box and an ISP that doesn't enforce bandwidth regulations

But still, awesome offer that I might just try for. I've got a bunch of WIPs sitting around, and I start meshing one, I get another concept to model. And I hate meshing.

Most likly till we shut our doors
Professor

This program has MOSTLY been in-place since day one. Many people already benefit from it (Hitman, SushiFX, etc). It is not costly to us, we already pay for the space, if we don't use it, why not give it to someone else? This program will be running in one form or another until Natural-Selection dies (because we won't shut our doors before then).
Chrono

*cough* me *cough* had to pay for hosting *cough*
Professor
Apr 28 2004, 02:03 AM
Thats because you ordered it from us specifically. You sent us money and we gave you hosting. You didn't create anything then to fit into this program (as far as I know, this took place many months ago). Now that you create models, you don't need to pay for any hosting
Chrono
Apr 28 2004, 02:12 AM

Since you qualify, thats fine. You don't need to send us any money. If you sent money for this month, we will send you a refund.

jean ill model it when i get better from this damn cold i have ive had it for a week and its getting worse by the day as you notice the m16 was going pretty good till about day 5 of the cold where i was losing my mind and forgot to save
Professor
Apr 28 2004, 04:31 AM
If you model and mesh, and someone else skins, you will both be eligible for the rewards. Basically, if you are a critical part of the detail you provide us, you will be rewarded. There is a limit, so you can't say you and 20 of your friends all made this one detail and should all be rewarded

Just so you know, the rewards don't STACK. If you want to move from #1 to #2 you have to give us exclusives. So submitting 5 #1's will not get you 250 megs of space.
BigBull
Apr 28 2004, 12:52 PM
This might sound bad, but what you are doing is basically getting the whole community exclusive to you.
That means running everyone else out.
That means more and more of an already dieing NS customization community dieing even more.
"Professor" when I was with NSA we only had a couple of exclusives to give the competition a chance, not to put a chokehold on anything. Basically making everything exclusive cuts out the fun, and offering "bribes" to give it to NSA exclusive is just desperate and pathetic. NSA already has the spec ops pack, which is more than enough, and now its like suffocating the ns community by trying to make every model made only to NSA>
Sad attepmt to glorify one thing.
Yes I loved exclusives more than anyone, but I never pulled this.
NSA is the next Wal-mart.

"if the author says so"
NSA and ns-fr host a bunch of jaeger's models that he said "i could have exclusive"... but because bigbull would have yelled at me, i didn't exclusive them...
if your going to keep them exclusive, at least try and be fair about them. T2K doesn't bribe the people that give them exclusives... we just make sure they have whatever they need to keep doing their job.

Thats inappropriate darkflame. And i have lots of questions why you even get involved in NSA when you havent done anything for them. The commmunity that I created. Even AL said I did create it so give it a break.
And Me and al are on O.K. terms.
And me and t2k we are on MORE than O.K terms if you get my drift.
But like I siad.

Please don't turn this topic into another flame fest

. As for "bribing," our intention with the free webspace was to give them a place to store their work and to have personal sites so they could promote their work. As for the CC access, wouldn't they like to see where their models are when they are in the beta test phase? Finally, the other items are just rewards for detail creators who work hard. I sure would enjoy being able to work hard on a model, and then relaxing with a nice frendly game of NS on one of the top NS servers
We aren't putting a chokehold on anything at all. The majority of our exclusives are scheduled to go public after the beta phase (which is an opportunity for the creator to get some constructive feedback before the detail is released) like Sushi's phase was.
Like I said, this topic is for questions/suggestions for this new program. I personally see it as a very nice program and I will try to clear any questions up so you will be able to enjoy it to it's fullest
