i keep hearing this, and it's totally untrue "You can only spawn from 3 ips max" . this is CATEGORICALLY false!!! you can spawn from as many as you like to put down. i think my record is 6? or so. ALL "reinforcing".

so please, spread the truth, stop spreading the lies ! sad.gif
DC_Darkling
i also noticed we can.
A IP for each rine is total pownage. Good if you got insane res.

Funny, I've seen fields of IPs, and when I hit tab:

DEAD

DEAD

REIN
REIN
DEAD

DEAD
DEAD
DEAD
REIN
DEAD

DEAD
DC_Darkling
I have seen 4 REINs and I never saw more then 4 IPs. This was in beta2 so just saying.

I'd say someone check. smile.gif post screenies

THe reason why you dont see REIN all the time is because i think it may be glitched. Not sure but it seems like it.

More than 3 IP is not a waste. They all work. Rememebr, when you're dead, you remain dead for at least a few seconds (5 or 7 I think?) before you are eligible to be reinforcing/Distressed beaconed. Even if everybody is dead, some people might have not been dead long enough for the to be reinforcing, so you only saw a few at a time.
If you want to rest, have the whole team suicide all at once.
Swift_Idiot
Test it on NS_nothing. Spam IPs and tell everyone to jump in the pit at Marine Start at once.

Even if you can spawn more than three at a time, beacon is still totally useful because of the ten second delay it takes for marines to go from dead to spawned.

True, although I wish beacon warped your marines back to where the obs is located, instead of always to MS.

Highly abusable, and a pain to code tounge.gif

Pain to code...probably. highly abusable? It takes 15 res each use! It's not like marines can just spam this thing over and over again!

My personal experience would be, that more Ips make you spawn quicker
maybe its numbers of people:/

Think of it as insta phase, considering no research required, one at each RT and no alien could touch your res, as you beacon them to each RT that comes under attack. No more relying on rines to do it themselves, but have them there no matter what even if they were dead.

Example, Obs at spawn, a single obs per RT.
RT under attack beacon everyone there get RFK from rine kills and save RT. Do this to say 5-6 RT's you will easily get your 15 res investment back. Not to mention coordinate your team more.

Obs rush hives.

From my expereacnce one 3 peole can spawn at once but with more than three Ips it lets others enter the renforsing cue before the people spawning befor them have spawned alowing for up to 6 people reneforsing.
im_lost
The fact that beacon sends you to MS no matter what is meant to be a drawback of relocating (or a potential advantage, if used correctly in a strange situation).

That onos is taking out MS rt?

BACON US, COMMANDO!!!!!11111111111one

If bacon warped you to the obs everyone would just place one in each hive.

Sneak a marine into the alien hive and ninja bacon instead of phase. IF you can save up 60 res before hand (not hard) thats four times your entire team spawns directly into their hive with about 5 seconds in between spawnings if its really needed.

There really wouldnt be a defense besides having to lame up every entryway and hiding spot in each hive.

How about only an obs within a certain radius (this radius should big enough ideally to say...cover the entirety of the Hera MS) of a comm chair can beacon?

I dunno where the heck this post started.... but I've always had a marine pop out of every IP placed (as of I've done it a crapload of times for fun)... Yes it does make for a very good strat when you relocate right outside their hive.. and is extremely good for when u have mad Res (and are spamming all those un-needed weapons)

All and all... I've made FIELDS of IPs with 9 players and they all spawned.. (in most every patch I've done this).. if you're losing it's a great way to confuse the Alien team.. it's just like whack-a-mole

[Edit: As for the Bacon idea.. that's not too bad of an idea... but they've have to change it to just living players and add some sort of second bacon (maybe it's crispier) but yeah.. it'd be more useful so the newbs are FORCED to go where u want them]

I like the idea, someone make it a plugin smile.gif

Not really possible I'm afraid... You'd have players spawning in walls or structures, in each other, etc.

You have to have somewhere you _know_ it's okay to spawn to... An info_team_start or something that is the size of the marine, and can't be placed so it's stuck in the map. Unfortunately, there isn't such an entity, at least not one that I can think of.

Of course, I'm still fairly new to metamod coding... But even if you had the full source code of NS, you'd still have major difficulties implementing it, and at best you would be able to make it work buggily.

Sometimes its worth it to have a field of IPs for the occasional onos telefrag kill . Add a few mines to the IPs and its pretty much a death trap till the gorgs figure out to bile bomb em or the fades start using acid rocket.
