Having reaccquainted myself with Milkshape and its workings, I think im ready to try animating someone elses works. Preferably with a skeleton pre-built, but if there isnt one I guess I could puzzle out how to make one myself. I really dont have alot of experience there, but im willing to try anyway.
Godhand

it's a map model, just need a little "movement" i've animated it myself, and it's REALLY bad.. from what i did you can get the general idea of what i'm looking for.

Download Model, Credits, and... stuff

you'll need to decompile the model, but i assume you know know to do that...

and of course, we need a teaser image.

Godhand
wow. everyone needs animators.

GG for lazy ^^

i got a question which i'm sure someone here knows the answer to (since we are talking about animations and all):
if i decompile the regular turret and recompile it, why does the spin animation screw up? the real problem is that i want to use that animation with my turret (same bones), but recompiling that .smd just doesn't work.
Kaine
you might have some of the bone assignments wrong. animations for buildings and mechanical things are easy. if i still had milkshape i'd do it for you sad.gif

botchiball
heh, i know their easy, which is why this is really confusing me. i don't think its a problem with the model.. i don't know whats going on.

Milkshape is very good at fuxoring the origin of models during decompile / recompile. I got these new custom compiling jabberwockies and they havent failed me yet.

And Delarosa: Here is your drop thingy. It now slowly breathes instead of randomly squirming smile.gif

VERY nice indeed... only minor problem is that one side "jumps" (my major problem).. but it's not too bad...

there is a pair of drumsticks that i made, it has a mesh all i need is the anims.

I was looking for maybe as an idle, the rine could be twirling them, and for the attack or whatever, you are drumming. they are akimbo, so the drumming would be normal, both going towards the center, other than that you can use your imagination smile.gif

it jumps slightly when it loops the animation
PromoCL
Well if you feel the jump is too big, I can work on it again.
CoolCookieCooks
nah its fine dude, its only a slight jump
Phyco
