I've noticed that I seem to move much slower then everyone else. I was wondering if there was any possible way to fix this :/, and no, I'm not walking or crouching.
Thankyou in advance.

as a marine or alien?
Aliens have different move speeds for different lifeforms, but that can be changed with celerity.
Marines on the other hand, are weighed down by guns and ammo. A marine with only a knife if the fasted mover, while a marine with hmg and full ammo will be slower. Not only does loading up on ammo waste time sometimes, it also make you move slower.

I haven't really played much as aliens so I wont comment there. However as Marines I'm considerably slower then everyone else. No matter the weapon or ammo amount I have everyone easily running ahead of me. Someone mentioned that +/-speed in the console does something?

When you walk 'backwards' you walk much slower than walking in the forwards direction.
Otherwise, it might appear to you that you're going slower but you in fact are not.

I'm not walking backwards and I'm quite sure I'm moving slower then I should be

Judging from the amount of people that run past me and the "lolz look how slow he's moving"...

hmmm may i ask which version this is? as in 2.0 you could alter your forward speed with cl_forwardspeed 1000 least i think it was that. But in 3.0 all speed settings are locked at 1000. Try changing your walk bind to something other then shift or caps lock as they both have issues.

I'm running ver 3.0, I just went aliens and a marine was able to move faster then me as a skulk -_- It seems to come and go in patches.
I'll try binding to a different key.

It could be that your walk key is pressed down or something. Try changing the key for walk.

Maybe one of those evil admins borked your config.cfg, try to delete it

And then do it read-only.
Or its because your keyboard is damaged and a key is constantly pressed.

I found the source of the problem. After playing on steam I was unable to run using OpenGL. I then updated my video card driver and switched back to OpenGL which in turn fixed it. I've found a fair few others who had experienced similar problems, so for future reference just update or reinstall your drivers and make sure it's on OpenGL.
