Just how would one go about updating them to another version? Does Beta 3.1 need to be in a separate folder from 3.3?

I know that there have been many topics addressing this, but all seem to say something along the lines of 'boot up and install beta 3.3'. I had both in my SteamApps/youremail/halflife, but Steam still only recognized Beta 3.1. Any help that could be given would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

They would go in the same folder. I'm not 100% sure here but I think you will have to install beta 2 before you install beta 3. They should all be on the downloads page.

the beta 3 just replaces some of the files from beta 1...and no u dont need beta 2 just 1 and 3.

downlaod and install beta 1

download and run the installer for beta 3

point it at steam\steamApps\email\Half-Life (DON'T ADD THE NSP!)

to double check then it is in the right place check:
steam\steamApps\email\Half-Life\nsp

and make sure that there is a file called xfire_installer in there, if there is not, you messed sometihng up.

That did it. NS is now running perfectly
