Im having trouble geting this started, not sure if I installed it wrong or what. I downloaded both the 3.0 beta 1 and the 3.0 beta 3 patch, I installed them to the defualt spot it was set too, which was my email. Now im wondering how to start it.

Open Steam and it will be under third party games, on the game menu.

I opend steam then opend the games menu. It doesnt say anything about NS.

Just to be clear: Have you run HL or any mods (CS, TFC, etc) prior to installing NS?

Its way down thr bottom of games - just above condition zero.

If it aint there - reinstall it dude.

Try this:

I run NS from a shortcut with target details as follows:
"D:\Program Files\Gaming files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 70 -game nsp

Type that in start-> run, make a shortcut to it, dump it in the address bar, or whatever.

Not sure what default installation directory is, but I pressume something like:

"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 70 -game nsp

...would work for most people.

You said you installed it in your e-mail directory... You're supposed to install it in

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\email@email.com\half-life\

so that once it's installed, it'll be in \email@email.com\half-life\nsp

Try making it work woth won first if you cant even start the thing up...
