Ok..It may just be me... but my computer just updated steam when I went to run my map.. not only is the menu brighter than I've ever seen it before, the levels are all flushed.. I have the gamma entity set to 2.0 in my map but when I go to the menu and come back it says the gamma is set at 1.000005... I loaded up ns_veil just to check and it is the same thing...
to add to the bright thing - I am getting an error that says something about user message client 67 or some crap...the level loads then it just goes back to the menu... it's crazy...

the last steam uppdates have been generaly fking whith my ns to, nothing serius exept random crashes etc
Oooh. Not an NS or Steam problem (that I was having)...it's an ATI Catalyst 4.3 problem. I updated to the latest ones and that is what must be causing it to be all washed out (don't know about the other problem). I switched to DNA Catalyst 4.3 and it is back to normally dreary darkness...
So there you have it - don't use new ATI drivers...go for the DNA optimised ones
