Whenever I compile my map, it works fine. When I go to run it, it gives me an error:

Cannot find file cargotruck1.wad !

I have gone so far as to add the -wadinclude cargotruck1.wad in the CSG of Batch Compiler... but it STILL tells me this... WTH is it?

I only have these in the textures box for VHE

so what the HELL is cargotruck1.wad ? Where does it come from? Is it required?

I've tried removing and re-installing VHE... no success... I have a BRAND new computer, so there can't be anything weird on it really... I don't want to have to re-format or something... dear god...

Yes, I deleted the wad.txt and re-ran the makewad from Zoners tools... yes I have everything poitned in the right directory (I followed the tuitorials to set up BC and VHE EXACTLY!)

I've even gone as far as completely re-making the map... SOMEONE has to know what's going on! Dear god... this is getting REALLY annoying... nothing I know will fix it... I've run a search on my computer for any file that has the word cargotruck in is... NOTHING!

Hmm weird and it seems to drive you crazy

You could try opening up the *.map with notepad and search for "wad" (including the ")

Now see if that cargotruck1.wad is located in this row with used wads. and delete that part if it's there, since you also said in some other thread that the VHE setting are correct and all... after this is done and saved recompile.
Can you give us the compile log to so we can have a look at it?

oh and remember to make a backup of the *.map <-- now that I've said that u can't blame me if your original file is corrupted

I looked manually through it, and did a search... it simply does NOT exist.. either on my HD OR in my .map file... *is about to cry... seriously*


Wait... could the problem be me having ZHLT auto detect used wads? and then the -wadinclude cargotruck1.wad thing?

*sigh* nothing is working... go**amnit! I've e-mailed the dude that made Zoner's tools... hopefully he can help *sighs* The room is sorta complex... but even trying a basic CUBE gives me this ***&(*&()&(*#&)(*$# error... WTH

And your absolutely sure that menu-->tools-->options, tab textures doesn't have it listed?

My suggestion is that in fact the most likely source is a prefab, likely a cargo truck prefab.

If you cant find the wad. The other solution is to make a fake wad called cargotruck1.wad and go from there.

(When in doubt fake it)

then when it asks you to replace the textures in said wad have Hammer mark them and eliminate them solving the problem. If that gets confusing im me tomorrow. I need some one to distract me from the 2 papers I am going to have to right.

If you use hammer, save as an RMF file, then use RMFfix, you have to tell it what wads you used in it as a wad.txt file. Then you should have no problem, as when it converts to .map it just will not need the cragowhatever.wad.

edit : I good spell gramma too.

Theres probably a prefab asking for that .wad. Either delete the prefab or change its textures. If you are 100% sure you are not using this wad and you still have an error, try to add -wadautodetect to your hlcsg.exe parameters and see if it works ?

Yeah confused... I thought of doing that, problem is I dun know where I'd put it (as I dont' know exactly where it's looking for it)... lol, today's a new day... perhaps I'll find it

Allright let me explain what confused! started about marking textures

Look in your texture browser (VHE) and check for a NOIMAGE texture (usually the last texture in the browser so scroll down )
Now select it and press the mark button. It will give you a popup saying "X number of faces marked". Now press replace and select in the right thumbnail for examle the NULL texture, only thing you have to now it press ok and it will say how many faces are replaced.

Now compile and test the map and keep your fingers crossed...

Another thing... Don't give up on mapping m8, it's true it can be bothersome, but keep at it and mistakes which annoy the heck out of you at the moment. Once you solve them they won't haunt you any time soon (since you know the answer and all )

Prolly a prefab, or it was used once in the map (even before you got your new computer)

When i transfer a map from work to home or vice versa, i have to open, and re export cause the wads are in different places. (strange i know)

Even if you dont use the wad anymore, it may still be 'attached' to the map.

I tried looking for the blank things... I found two... but one was an invisible one (all blue) and one was a NULL texture... neither were in the map...

Could it have something to do with me using the xeno.wad , halflife.wad , and liquids.wad from half life
