I'm having problems playing Steam, and there is no way for me to fix it.
The game starts freezing up for 5 seconds every 30 second. On other mods it gives me a waterwalking sound, as if someone with a high ping is playing.
Only time I have a bad ping is when I get these freezes. Other than that i play at 30.
This renders Steam completely unplayable.
Haven't tried any other games as I don't have other games to play. Not online, at least.
My router is a 3Com, an dI have absolutely no idea wether that is the problem or not.
I can't turn off the firewall, I've set my computer to be the DMZ host, I've tried every connection setting in Half-Life I can think of, I've opened the ports for Half-Life (something so that it reads my IP instead of the router's or something).
Anyone with a 3Com router that any similar freezing problem and got it solved?
