I've never had any FPS problems with any of the previous NS versions, but lately I'm experiencing some enormous unexplainable FPS losses with the Beta 3 version. It makes the gameplay impossible. Normally they only occured on a few of the new maps, but now is happening on a map which I used to play without any problems(co_rebirth).

Does anyone know what might be causing this?

I highly doubt this is Map related.

A) Does it happen on any other games? especially steam.

B) Do a virus scan. I had a VERY similar problem, where the virus Graybird.G or somesuch caused my CPU usage to spike to 100%. Check TasKMan for the program explore.exe, spiking to 100% cpu usage.

If you find this, run a Virii scan, and heal, you should be sorted.

No it is not that. I have the same problem. For example in co_rebirth and in ns_nancy portengine hive but there are also few other places where I get them. They came up on Beta 3.

yeah, but in my case, it's the whole map.

In ns_agora... in the marine start the games goes crazy. I hope that they fix this soon.

Its wierd that you have fps problems for the entire map.... (and only on the new maps?)

It is known that there are still some bugs in a few of the maps remember this is ACTUALY a beta, as opposed to the other releases where you were playing a gold release.)

It happens on a few of the new maps, not all. But the thing that really puzzles me is that co_rebirth, which I could play fine, now also has this problem.

i've had this problem too. i get in on rebirth, and only on rebirth. plus it's the whole map, not just certain areas. i know for sure that it's a beta 3 problem because thats the first time i ever saw anything like it. i dont have this with any other map/mod/game.

I get the same problem on co_rebirth, it started after they added the area down the ladder at the rine start, bad audio or textures probly
