does anyone use Gmax here? and is it good...should i be using lightwave...milkshape? i need some recomendations please

I suggest Milkshape...I heard lightwave was very difficult.

lightwave is like max hard to learn but is a great tool

neither max nor lightwave is hard to learn you jsut have to spend a looooooong time.
btw use gmax and mikshape together
model with gmax and compile with milkshape

you have to spend a long time to master anything but i figured out max in about a day

I recomend quit before you get dragged into a HL2 mod and some how become head of skinning.

we have no idea how that happened but it did
think of it this way when your the only one on the team that does it your considered the best at it

so i should use gmax (im getting good with it) and milkshape together?...are you saying to use milkshape for converting mainly? oh yeah...can i render what i just modeled in Gmax...i can't find it...and if not, is there a program that can..besides lightwave..and yeah i don't really like lightwaves layout but you can do alot with it.

ok
GMAX is the light version of max it cant render cause the g stands for GAME
export you finished models as an 3ds and import it to milkshape and then you can compile it for ns/hl

of course, don't buy anything until you know you're serious about learning how to do 3d...there's plenty of free stuff out there to play with. Maya personal learning edition, gmax, wings 3d (yay), and blender. I'm sure there are others that I don't know about....
