i would just like to ask if there is any improvements happening to ns 3.0 to lessen the lag and cpu use becouse i can not stand it any more.

server taht we have hosts

game players pings
Cs 1.5 16 Player 15-40
Ns 3.0 (steam) 16 player (4 admin) 30-1000

server used to run this

Cs 1.5 20 Player 15-30
ns 2.01 16 player (4 admin) 20-40

this is what used to be the pings dont have cpu use etc but i would just like to say before any one blames steams bad linux coding that we have turned off cs server and just had ns running and also we have poped up a cs 1.6 STEAM server 24 player and not got same lag that we get in ns also we did a dod one 2.

so i would like to ask if there is any plans to fix this problem instend of playing about with co which i think is a addon to the game ns they should spend more time on ns than co and fix the cpu..

if anyone has made some kind of fix or knows a way of tweeking the server to have less leg can u plz tell the world smile.gif and save us before we all go and play less laggey games like cs and dod and even :O TFC!!!!

As long as you don't post some information about your server system (CPU, RAM, CPU/Memory Usage, Bandwidth, Distribution and so on) I doubt you will get the feedback you desire. Also list wich plugins (+ versions) you are running and if you use any special settings (in your configs, as parameter in the command line,...)

Everyone blames it on the mod, when it actually isn't.

Valve has programed steam under windows, and they are trying to simply port it over to linux which is cuaseing a ton of problems.

Use windows server 2000 or 2003

I've got one linux server 2.4Ghz, 1GB ram and one windows 2k3 web server - 2.4Ghz, 1GB ram. Both have 28 players, and only one has adminmod running - and it ain't linux.

Who figured eventually there would be a real reason to us windows.

It could also be that your server is in a congested network. My old server was like that.
