Well, after my iffy success with my first model, I decided to make a model that would keep up with the quality of other models in the forums. After starting the pistol I found it really fit the NS theme.
Here's the first ever superexclusive render of this WIP model.
No reference picture used.

Ok a new render... I've added detail, finnished the handle. Put in some Ironsights.
All I really have to do now is put in some detail at the back end or something.

Looking good so far except
the trigger and the grip are too i dont know?
Theres not enough grip area with the triggerguard and stuff.
And the back slide can be rounded off, and it seems big.
But its nice

Polycount is 630.
I'm thinking about rounding the back end, although, I'm not sure if it will fit too well with the NS theme, and look good. If I find a nice way to round it, I'll do it right away.

Well you could use some detail on the grip and backpart of the slide since its so low poly.
Also the sight is really small IMO
but this model has potential.

In fact, this is lookin really nice IMHO.
It reminds me of some of those UBER-big handguns that are used in comics (eg. Judge Dread, Robocop...)

Updated, little more detail, sights have been fixed. I'm debating weather to fix the handle or not. I like squary boxis models anyways

boxy models are fine but handle is nothing more than a broomstick shoved on, needs more ergonomics

Oh and the bottom thingy was fixed too, just not in that render.

I model on the fly, it's like live modelling :S.
[EDIT] Did something, you like?! If not, then it will change back (At the front of the pistol).

Modified, I decided to go with the front modification. The model's either finnished or almost finnished, we'll see what cooky ideas my mind can think up.
There's a mistake in the model which I fixed. It's near the front of the trigger...

haha too much commentary abotu the pistol, but the one and only thing i have to comment on is... you guessed it... the handle!
Don't get me wrong it's really nice as is, and I couldn't do that for the life of me. However, I think the handle looks too small in comparison to the rest of the body (slide and such). If you made it a little larger (slightly wider and slightly longer) and made the indents on the grip more curved and suttle (as to fit 3 fingers comfortably) I think, with a texture, there would be absolutely no comments on the handle whatsoever. anymore. ever.

It's a biiig pistol.
Like a high powered gauss pistol or something. A lot of the details you pointed out are never going to be seen ingame anyways.

hey, with that huge space under a barrel, you could put a nice LAM... just gotta make it where you can actually see it ingame. the model is still pretty low poly, you can spend for it :o

The back and front are too different in shape/weight. That will cause serious inaccuracy in between shots (because of the front/back weighing more than it's counterpart.)

Regarding the model: looks a lot like an energy weapon; rather like the pulse pistol from Farscape. Does it have a clip?

yah thats what i was thinking. maybe whoever animates this can make it so it shoots like some sort of beam then recharges instead of reloading with a magazine

also, you could find some great sounds for it!

Is it posible to make the bullets maybe a bright red streak? and actually make ti an energy pistol?
That would be cool, and energy pack... LMg, pistol, KNIFE! (lightsabre)
maybe make the JP not blue particles, but an actual flame coming from the nozzles. The trail be smoke...
Just my ideas, dunno if tis possible, but an idea.

it was discussed a while ago but the only way you can make the bullets laser is changing the traser color because the bullet tracers are not a sprite but i like your JP idea

Ive been mulling hat idea in my head for a long time. I dunno if you can have smoke AND fire... sicne its just one long stream of particles...
The smoke would be easy to do, jsut make the particles grey, and add a billion more

, but the fire... there istn anything that comes from the JP, so....
What would it take to make the bullet trace into a glowy red... laser. If tis really hard, and requires programming, then bah, but if tis jsut like... a model needing change, then i bet someone could do it.
