ok am new to NS....must say its a damn good game, my hat off to ya biggrin.gif

have been using quark for a while, made maps for CS and HL, but cant get quark to pick up the ns textures, have got the ns.qrk and ns_context.qrk files....using quark 6.3.0

atm its got the HL directory set as c:\program files\steam\steamapps\email\half-life

but theres no textures....it jst aint picking any up (HL OR NS), for CS mapping since 1.6 i pointed it to my old 1.5 directory so it can use the HL and CS wads....but what am i meant to do for Ns

help much appreciated, if anyone needs to know ought about mapping then i know quite a bit of it and will help when i can smile.gif

I find quark harder and more confusing :|

I have 6.4a installed and don't have any texture-finding-issues. Mine is pointed to my old won-based hl install though. I think the big issue here is with the steam filenaming. Specifically the fact that the @ symbol isn't commonly used in file names, and tends to throw things off. Also check to make sure that "c:\program files\steam\blahblahblah" is in quotes. Otherwise quark will be looking for things in c:\program.

There may be a simple answer to this, there may not. I think you just need to download the most up to date files. Mapping Forum FAQ has them.

Personally I copy the folder over to WON/Main HL, and compile and run from there. Although I don't use Quark that often, it still loads up the textures that way. I also find it much easier to test out a map.

Did you grab Wolv's 3.0 Quark NS files from the FAQ?

no am using the ones from the game when u install it....o i figured it out now, its cos quark was looking for textures in "half-life/ns" but my ns directory is default "half-life/nsp"

jst copied em over to 1.5 install and renamed it ns instead of nsp biggrin.gif nerd.gif
