I downloaded steam and installed it. Now I try to use hlsw to play regular NS and i can't it give me an error! I've reinstalled hl onto my desktop and tried to run ns from that (non-steam) version of hl and I still get an error! Anyone know the problem?

well seeing how we aint exactly psychic, nor have we gotten around to installing the spy cameras in your house we don't know:
1) WHAT THE ERROR IS!
2) what your system specs are
3) why you would think of installing HL to your desktop (ummm, bad idea? Yah!)

Did you install the STEAM VERSION OF NS 2.0?

wait! no no i didnt! i installed the 2.1 steam

there is no 2.1 or 2.01 steam version, only the NS 2.0 Steam Beta (foun in the open beta forum)

i am curioues about this my self.. i get that same error at least 5 times a day when im playing ns.. i dont get it when im on cs, so i dont think it is a steam problem.. but anyways, i will keep looking here to see if any answers come our way oh and yes i have reinstalled steam and ns 3 times already.. my OS is XP
cpu is p4 2.6
1 gig of ram
nvidia 5200 128 mb
