I was just talking to some people in #findnsscrim and I think there a lot of people who live in wisconsin. who might be interested. Silverwolf, a few apex guys, pandas | Rain, bout half of C*B and a few others are from wisconsin. Just curious if anyone else would be interested in a wisconsin LAN. Post back here or stop in #clan_complex to chat about it.

<-----Wisconsin. I'll do'er if its not to far.
MadcapMagician
Madison would be ideal.
SilverWolf
rawr
CommunistWithAGun
Yes madison would be real good, I'm only an hours drive from there.
Sandrock
I live up in Green Bay
DEADscott

Eww counter-strike. Eww Milwaukee. Heh.

MADISON!!!!!
Bugler
Right on- I live in madison now, and about 3 of my friends also play NS- we should definitely get a lan here.
ElvenThief
I too am in Madison. During a Comp Sci discussion class last week, I was asked if I play NS by some guy cause his roommate is a big NS fan/player. Perhaps should hunt each other down and do something.
Bugler
Which of you have apartments/ houses?-that would be ideal- kinda hard in a dorm smile.gif
CommunistWithAGun
Well my house isn't very big. Most computers I've had here is 5 and that was cramped. I'm trying to think of places near/in madison. But damn, I didn't know there were so many NS'ers from Wisconsin tounge.gif
DEADSilent-ErsEr
note about the deadclan lan at www.deadloki.com/lan this will be a all hl mods lan as well as that bf1942 game and anything else we bring so don't count us out ..also thermaltake is sponcering us
CommunistWithAGun
Well im not doubting its quality, its just milwaukee is a bit too far for me, and I wouldnt be able to go sad.gif
Sandrock
I've had thermaltake sponsor a lan I held, they just sent a few small items, maybe $50 worth. And that was a larger sized lan than the deadlan too.

We're having a winter lan in Green Bay (50-75 people) and I'm hoping to get NS played (I had an interested crowd watching me play at the fall lan). So if anyone is interested in that....
Jedi
Madison would be prime. I'd offer up my house but no cable (yet)

Bugler, what if we went to ping time for a few hours? Expensive yes, but they do have the buy 3 hours, play for 5 at the same price.

Agreed
Jedi
Scooter, we can cram about 8 people in your basement. We've done it before tounge.gif
Bugler
milwaukee aint that bad folks.... hour 15 min drive to almost anywhere in the city
Jedi
mmmm, ya says the guy without a car and who wouldnt be driving either way... tounge.gif
CommunistWithAGun
So yeah lets work this out 'n'stuff. smile.gif
Harmondo
Host it about 4 1/2 hours north west of Madison and I'm all game biggrin.gif
I guess I'm just destined to live my ns life out all alone... Damn northern wisconsin.

CommunistWithAGun
I know someone that far up. You near Rice Lake?
Harmondo
I wonder why it double posted.... eh.
I live about an hour west of rice lake over in Balsam Lake.
Jedi
ping time in madison is a viable option still, also buglers house during the first two weeks in October
CommunistWithAGun
need to decide quickly then
Sandrock
We'd need to try and find a more central location for everyone. It seems the majority of us interested are either already in Madison or in Northern Wisconsin. So we should choose somewhere right smack in the middle of those two. Madison is quite a drive for me. Only way I could do a Madison lan is if we built phasegates...
Jedi
:O

yeah but I really dont want to drive my comp anywhere outside of madison if at all possible. Scooters will go into critical meltdown without the proper atmospheric conditions, and Bugler lost his comp to some evil parents until the first week of October.

that and the fact that I would be driving both of them... tounge.gif
Sandrock
If thats your logic, I dont want to drive out of Green Bay if possible. But that isn't going to happen. We need to find a location thats gonna be maybe 1-2 hours away from everyone interested. That way not everyone has to drive as far.
CommunistWithAGun
I am 2 and a half hours from greenbay, 1 hour from madison...but my town is small and ****, no LAN center, and my basement area can host maybe 4 pc's tops....
SkulkBait
Wow.. lots of Cheesehead NS players... Well I live in madison, so no help there, sorry. BTW, I have 4 alphanumeric characters for you: A V P 2
Jedi
lol, since we seem to be at an impasse, how about we switch the topic to a "Madison LAN" tounge.gif
SkulkBait
Well, if we can manage to decide on a place to hold it, I have a 36 port (10baseT unfortunatly sad.gif) hub we can use....
Jedi
yep, I got one of those too tounge.gif

If Bugler ever reads this crap, maybe we could throw together a Madison LAN in the first week of October?

if we had some crossovers we could string those switches together... unless they have uplink ports in which case the straight thrus will do nicely. I got a large selection of (mostly oversized) ethernet cables I can bring. And several powerstrips.

I have a location we could use for really cheap that includes tables, chairs, monitors and networking equipment. It is in Green Bay though.
