hi i'm new to the forums and ns (although i played it for about a week now)
i have roxored(in my opinion) in cs and finding it frustrating to start all over in ns
um first question. please note that i'm a bit lazy right now(i may write unclearly)
first question. I'm sometimes having a problem when i cant give way points a commander. I give the way point, only to find that it says "invalid way point" however, this only happens in some servers and to fix it, i have to restart ns and rejoin that server. is this just a bug, or am i doing something wrong?

second question: sometimes as commander, when i try to bulld, it shows the menu, as normal, then it goes off.
It is like a flickering menu, I can see the menu long enoguh to see it, but not enoguh to click it. Unless i reboot ns, i cannot play commander at all, for i cant build. I'm presuming this is a bug too

3rd. is there any way to cancel during an evolution in ns? i'm finding it frustrating to get killed by marines who somehow discover my hiding place while evolving and they kill me in mid form as i evolve to an onos. Please note that i have looked around my area first.

4th. I will make a seperate post for this but i will put this in here anyways. Do u have any tips on knifing? Hear this. I have only killed with a knife once. And the ironic fact is that, all though i have tried and tried, the only time i knifed was when i didnt even want to. I was killing an enemy resource tower with a knife, and then suddenly this stupid skulk comes along and then trys to attack me by jumping. Yup u guessed it. It ran between me and the resource tower (i didnt even hear him, for i was happily swiping at the tower) and i killed it.

well good job to the natural selection team, for i havent played cs for awhile playing this game that is a huge thing for cs *used* to be my favourite game of all time. Keep it up!

As far as questions 1 & 2 go, I have seen this happen when playing with bots "offline" (Lan game/locked internet). Download the 1.03 server patch, and that should be that.

If you're playing "online":

1) this seems to have to do with the angle at which you're looking down, and the type of location where you're dropping the WP (clutered/multilevel). Adjust your top view, and try to drop it a few feet off the original place.

2) Never seen this in an online game, so I can't help you there ;(

3) No, you cannot cancel an evolution, unless you F4, but you still lose the resources AND have to wait to respawn after you rejoin (same as if you died.) Resist the temptation to evolve too close to the fight. Best place to evolve is either a hive, or a chamber farm.

4) Knifing is tricky business, and done only as last resort (out of ammo, or no time to reload.) Given the fact that a skulk can kill you with 2 bites (1 sec), and heavier aliens will just not be impressed by a puny knife, you should stick to range weapons. If you HAVE to knife something, try circle strafing while jumping and looking down.

you are not the first. forget all you learned in CS and you should be fine.

yes it's a bug, i think depends on location. keep trying, put wp in another spot or give verbal commands.

this happens sometimes when u jump in comm chair, i think it resets selection to the comm console everytime u try to select.
simply band select some marines, after that selecting structures should work.
